@@urd3adnow there's more to the game than just advantage state. yeah fox has a big weakness in that he's comboable but you also have to consider the fact that fox has the most oppressive neutral in the game. sure *when* you get hit you're fucked, but you have every opportunity to outplay and use fox's superior movement to win most interactions.

I never thought I would live long enough to see in high level melee where a DK destroys a fox of leffen's caliber. I originally started as a DK main in melee but switched to falcon because with DK I was getting destroyed by spacies. I like the switch though. Low tiers at high level play come in with new tech and general play that people aren't used to, and everyone knows how to combo/punish Fox more than probably any character. So switching characters both removes combo bait and does what the low tier player is doing in return, forcing them to play a matchup that they aren't well prepared for.

@A L yes I actually agree sheik is far worse for DK than fox imo, she specifically exploits his weaknesses worse than fox, she has an insanely free tech chase on dk and some really disgusting combos because he's a big body. Fox does really well against dk but not because he specifically counters dk he's just a much better character but sheik is a better character and counters his general game plan of fishing for grabs very well

Just watched the first match. Can’t believe what I’m seeing. It reminds me of his issue with playing against Samus though. He assumes character below top 8 or whatever are so bad he doesn’t even need to practice against them. We saw him making the same mistake over and over again in the first match. Also in general it seems his play isn’t as good as usual, and Leffens opponent seems to be in the zone, reading and adapting well, and not missing many missed opportunities, even in the stress of the last stock situation he wasn’t messing up as much as Leffen.
