What a priviledge to see Ringo legend record drums for the last Beatle song. It gives me sort of a feeling. Master piece it turned out to be.

What a great gem of a drummer, Ringo!!

Ringo is such a gift to music and to the the world. To think that he's been playing in bands for +/- 70 years, always holding the rhythm section together and keeping front line right on time. I love how he holds his sticks rather loosely while slappin' the sh* t out of those skins, never missing a beat, rock steady and suddenly flourishing. Ringo is a genius and it's no wonder he has so many millions of fans ✌♥ .

Memo to Jeff Lynne: Record drums in one take with cymbals..
@jwl24693 ай бұрын
Shakin' a tambourine (11:31) continuously for that length of time is NOT that easy. The repetition can be VERY tiring, because you're mainly using the wrist.
@karaamundson39643 ай бұрын
Guy's got wrists of steel. Drumming from 1954/55-1964 gave him some serious guns...after that he was *easily* the best-built Beatle. Look at Ringo now: those ropy 83-y-o arms are as strong as titanium!

Amazing. I have waited for years to see this much of his work behind the kit without the camera always panning off him to someone else.

Ringo Starr é espetacular

Siempre impecable, con el toque preciso y su tan personal estilo. El inefable Sir Richard Starkey.
I think I remember Giles Martin saying he took Ringo’s drum recording and played it through speakers in Abbey Road studio two to get the room ambience. Generally don’t like GM’s mix though, everything is too loud and he killed all the dynamics/separation. His dad would have done it very differently I think.
@ExtremeGuyOne2 ай бұрын
Giles did not mix Now And Then, it was Spike Tent, Giles only did the Atmos version after the stereo was done, and it sounds a lot better (it still was limited because it has to be very close to the stereo one) Had Giles actually mixes Now and Then it would probably sound a lot better

How do they have a (presumably) professional engineer there and not know how to run a line from the mixing console to the camera audio input? So we can hear what's being recorded instead of only using the camera's mic?

he's still very solid. he's not going to play like when he was 20 and complete a whole album in one day or nail a full song in one take like used to, but he's fine.
