They need to come out and apologize for failing to meet fans' expectations and reboot the series properly. I doubt any of that will happen.

I completely agree! But yes, I doubt that will happen. They seem content to ignore any constructive criticisms for the series and pretend its a masterpiece. Which that frustrates me to no end that they had two whole years to adjust and make changes to improve their product but decided not to and then have the nerve to blame fans for not liking their shitty series and to top it off, still use the Lord of the Rings in the title and Tolkien's name in the show when this is clearly not Tolkien at all.
