Galadriel's 'suicide' scene was a copy-paste imitation of the legendary scene from the Last of the Mohicans.

I burst out laughing when they ripped off Harry Potter's "the wand chooses the wizard" with Gandalf's staff. It was literally just a stick on the ground.

Yes, they're basically doing a Disney Star Wars sequel where the general plot was just copy pasted with zero logic or soul.

the first star wars disney made ( episode7 ) was a blatant ripoff of of the very first starwars movie from 1977 and it was the most successful at the box office. i believe some executive saw that and wanted to repeat that success with the show ripping of every successful franchise

They were trying to use the weakpoint in the wall like in the Two Towers for Helm’s Deep but the difference between the two is that in the Two Towers, Saruman was explaining the use of the explosive for the weakpoint of the wall and the weakpoint was used. Here, they let Celebrimbor explain that part of the wall is the weakest point for the city’s wall after he saw the orcs hammering bolts on it, which is stupid and lazy as it just paints that the elves are dumb and none other than Celebrimbor knew it. Despite Kingdom of Heaven being a different genre, they handled the weakpoint of the wall surrounding the city of Jerusalem better by making a soldier who also acts as a siege engineer explain it. The movie allowed the engineer to explain that the weakest part of the wall surrounding the city is a former gate that was walled up. Since it was a former gate, the bricks used in the walling up is less thick than bricks that surrounds the former gate. Again, there is a way to handle that but it seems that the writers did not do due diligence in reading up how warfare is conducted.

Pretty clever though, considering only a few short months ago the RoP town of Eregion didn’t even have a wall! It just appeared in time for the Anna and Celly romance to end badly

How will they explain Miriel getting up the slopes of the Meneltarma mountain when the Isle of Numenor is submerged? In saying that Miriel was not meant to be born until several centuries after the creation of the rings.🤨

One of the weird things about the map is that it does not even appear to be representative of the geography of the region. It looks more like a fairly standard collection of hills, plains, rivers and forests with no particularly significant mountain ranges nearby. Even after the eruption, the refugees don’t have an especially difficult time getting back to the coast. Not to mention that it is hardly credible to say that creating Mordor in the show was even Sauron’s plan. You have a dam attached to an elven tower, operated by an evil sword key for some reason. But without any channels to guide the water to the volcano, so this is dug by Adar’s orcs and their slaves much, much later. So whatever the tower and dam setup was for, it’s hard to believe that it originally had anything to do with terraforming an orcish homeland.

What's weird is that Payne and McKay are college-educated and have read a fair share of real literature. And yet, the show seems to be created by people whose creative inspirations are entirely pop-culture things like Star Wars or even Dead Poets Society (oh captain my captain). They must have really really really hated those college literature courses.

I think the big problem is life experience. They most likely grew up and lived in relative comfort. Which is why they can only copy and pervert other works by people who had a wider array of experiences throughout their lives.

My 'favorite' inconsistency- Galadriel led the elves out of the secret tunnel, which was guarded at the end by orcs, which means THE ORCS KNEW THE TUNNEL WAS THERE AND DIDN'T USE IT TO GET INTO THE CITY!!!!! But sure, Adar loves and cares about his 'children', so he sends them in waves to get killed, rather than employing a surprise attack from inside the city itself, or at the very least sending a 2-pronged attack

I've been saying all along that RoP looks cheaply made, the scenes and sets look little more than a 1960s grade b sci Fi. Jackson's LoTR looks a lot better and more believable.

Why did Amazon hire the wrong people to making this? This is why you get people who are passionate about what they are doing. This should've been planned for longer and better. This was rushed into some weird production schedule. And art by committee produced.

It’s also the actors work to question these things. ‘How am I walking here when I’m blind?’, ‘what is my motivation?’ etc. These are all questions I would absolutely need answered if I was to achieve a believable performance.

RoP doesn't have politics, it just has people grandstanding and making speeches, and the crowds will be swayed every time. Compare that to the GoT franchise's politics, where you have backroom conversationsing and people conspiring, vying for support and actually working to dispose of others.
@adde27Ай бұрын
I hate how Amazon changed the destruction of Eregion: it's the apex of the War of the Elves and Sauron and the real deathblow to Noldorin culture: it also demonstrates how far the High Elves have fallen since the First Age and what a Dark Lord can do with an army of orcs and trolls etc. Yet here it's some lame orc-elf-wannabee and Celebrimbor is a snivelling mess rather than the badass who faced down Sauron on the steps of the Gwaith-i-Mirdain's guildhouse.

@@OG_Zlog I was just talking about the fact that you can't see the money. Scene after scene is just people standing talking to each other in the same place in the same set. Except for the flyovers, Even some of the CGI doesn't look great. The writers are terrible. The number of actors is too small. Even in this scene you have a great Balrog scene but it's a cold open! So this is just a way to make money on the part of the showrunners. It's a ripoff.

The clothes and armor look so fake. They are beautiful and colorful, but they also look fake at the same time. All of the armor looks like it's made from fake leather; none of it looks like real metal. They’re just expensive costumes you can buy online. If I were an innocent 13-year-old girl, maybe I would enjoy this show solely because of how colorful it is.

Really dont understand all the hating on the show. Sure season 1 was bad, but season 2 was really good and huge improvement. Excessive hating just seems kind of forced at this point. Sure there are some lore changes, but screen adaptions aren't supposed to be one to one to the books. Huge timejumps would make the show boring. Imo they've constructed a good story with what they are given. Would have loved to see the Stranger to be one of the blue wizards and not Gandalf. But overall its pretty good show. Haters using the "Not canon" argument gets pretty tiring. Afterall we don't see purits crying about PJ's LOTR or Hobbit lore butchering (and they still are good movies even after huge lore changes and time changes). I remember when people hated the Hobbit and now they love it - i bet most are going to love ROP after few years. And even if haters keep on hating ROP, nobody is forcing you to watch it. Season 2 definetly changed my opinion on ROP and i am just happy to get some middle-earth content to consume.
@Feanor1988bisАй бұрын
The hobbit trilogy were never good movies and there has been plenty of complaining about lore deviations in the LotR by PJ at the time of their release, and I still don't like what was done to a couple of characters, but RoP is on a whole other level both in breaking lore and in being just a bad show on its own demerits.
@suimeingwong2043Ай бұрын
I don't like what they did to The Hobbit and unless I get serious brain damage that won't change.
@uvicjamesАй бұрын
It wasn't "really good" at all. It was inconsistent with Tolkien's actual writings, it turned major figures into incompetent buffoons (eg, Celebrimbor). And no, the Hobbit films were not 'good' films either.
@uvicjamesАй бұрын
@@moon-moth1 I also don't agree that the lore deviations in the PJ films were 'necessary' either. The whole "army of the dead" nonsense actually killed one of Tolkien's main themes by wiping out the contribution of the people of Dol Amroth and Southern Gondor to the defense of Minas Tirith. That was a major deviation from one of the big themes of the works.
