RINKS AROUND THE LEAGUE | Canadian Tire Centre

We head to Kanata Ontario to visit the Canadian Tire Centre, homes of the Ottawa Senators. The Senators hope to be moving to a new rink sometime soon but for now they call The Canadian Tire Centre home.

This arena is an exact replica of the Palace of Auburn Hills. Thats where the Pistons used to play.

A clarification for the part where you say we couldn’t fill the seats during the playoffs: We actually sold out every game technically. Fans just didn’t show up for I believe it was two games or so. The media chose to use the number on the game sheet for tickets scanned instead of tickets purchased.

I suppose. But it's still pretty bad if fans don't show up. With the recent news of the Sent Foundation parting ways - appears a lot is wrong with that organization.

the team isnt going anywhere. team makes a lot of money, its just the location that hurts the attendance. if it gets a new arena in a better location it will thrive. Team isnt relocating ever

Gotta think about the valley though. All the surrounding areas that arent too far from the city like Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Perth, Arnprior, Calabogie etc. Those people dont want to take an hour drive to ottawa then have to do another 30mins in city traffic. You put the rink in Kanata and you get people from up to 100km away because its just highway driving to get to the game. Yeah the people in Gloucester that have like 30mins of city driving from the east end arent gunna like it but the majority of the east enders are french so they only go when Habs are in town. Theres lots of variables to the issue but as of right now im happy with the current system
