Rio Linda Airport to Concord Buchanan - returning home after work.

Returning home from Sacramento after a good day's work. Rio Linda (L36) to Concord Buchanan (KCCR) transitioning Sacramento International Class C Airspace, onto Travis Approach and Concord Tower. Performed an overhead pattern entry for heavy traffic in Concord, with a safe, but very floaty landing on 32L. Let the weekend begin!

It never fails...... CCR is slow...then suddenly everyone shows up at once, Red Stripe, helicopter, and other traffic... just when you are coming in. 10 minutes later, slow again. It happens all the time. Nice video.

Great video and really smart decision to not force the landing and fly a pattern! iPad overheating is something I haven't thought about (I just transitioned to using foreflight). Do you encounter that issue often?

This is the time of the year where it's going to start overheating often. I run my iPhone as the backup. There are some good mounts that keep it cool but I haven't tried any of those yet. The 172 overhead air vents, pointing directly on my knee pad where I mount the iPad right now, seem to do a good job cooling it down. We flew to Southern California this week and ForeFlight saved my butt a couple of times with LA's airspace!

Tips I have heard: Don't leave Ipad in protective case, and having it charging, contribute to overheating. Naked and unplugged.
