Ngl velkoz is theoretically strong, but now that ive seen it, the counter is to just perma invade. Ward camps, when vel E's camp, jump in and kill. He has nothing else to disengage with.

this is true of most AP junglers like morgana, evelynn, brand, and zyra. in the early game they don't have much consistent damage, so if their CC doesn't get you, your invade either forces them out or straight up kills them. the AP junglers you don't invade are lillia and elise, because they'll kill you first. elise is just strong early, but lillia will dance around you if you're melee and duel you down

@@Wraith101 you're right about that, but they also don't clear as fast anymore since their recent nerfs + even if they did, they're still very weak at skirmishing compared to ad early game junglers like lee, jarvan, xin, etc. as long as you dodge their main cc ability, there's very little they can do to shake you off once you've gotten on them, and your consistent damage is way higher. this is why I love playing eve and morg but it's super matchup reliant, since a good ad jungler will just invade and try to kill me on my second buff or I'll have to vertical jungle if I see them invading. eve and morg are going to be much more powerful mid-late though, which is why they need to invade, since otherwise a good eve/morg jungle can basically run the game with how fast they can clear and how powerful their first item ganks can be

@cherrymarshmallow it's really not. Khazix has his leap he usually won't use and his q is on a short cd. Rengar can leap for bonus damage + low cd q. Generally won't use his e except for vision to leap. jarvan is beefy and has his e attack speed buff and passive. Usually can get away with e-q before you could kill him. Kindred can jump walls every 4 seconds. The list goes on.

I feel like with 4 ap the enemy team could have focused more on items in their class with magic resistance. Like pyke built the mr sword, amumu got abyssal mask, and 2 Mr boots seems light considering azzapps team config.

So, investing on magic resist against 2 mages with true damage in their kit, and a miss fortune adc to complete the backline. Smart investment tbh.

@@GreyPunkWolf Yeah, the he blinks in the damage numbers around 13:34. Looks like the true damage was about 10% between vel and ahri, but magic damage was like 65% of total damage dealt. But hindsight is 20/20. More specifically, Jax built a bramble vest second, for zac I'm sure, but it's probably bad cause jax has his auto-attack dodge so it doesn't even help against miss fortune who didn't even build life steal till 4th. I think Maw of Mal would have helped him more between the magic resist and shield it gives. And amumu built sunfire 3rd item against a bunch of range people. And Liandries against a team full of squishies. Yone's blade of the ruined king and the fed draven might have handled zac a little bit better and amumu should have been full tank or at the least Ludens. Kaenic Rookern or hollow radiance may have fared him better. Azz even said it himself a little. Pyke was ruining his life. Who ended up with edge of night and maw as his items. Though truthfully this was one of the top Velkoz players in the world smurfing on a team of silver-platinum. They were cooked from the beginning.
