As a DnD player, I can actually jive with that notion of not needing to win every battle you complete. I never thought about it; it doesn't bother me how games work now, but having that difference would be a cool, exciting memory. So many times, just barely escaping with your tail intact is more memorable than conquering. Now as far as having someone else save you, it depends on the player how enjoyable that is. I did that in a starting fight a new player of mine was clearly losing, and I let her continue fighting in desperation for several rounds hoping she could turn it around, but eventually he class partner intervened and have her an advantage. After the fight, my player in game fought with her partner about taking away her agency, insisting "I had him". After the game, the player told me she herself felt that way as well, that she's rather had died and try again later than have the fight won FOR her. So yeah... How the rescue happens is a delicate matter, but it could be cool.

it could be a rescue in the sense that you still lose the battle aswell, imagine you’re doing a big quest in Freljord and as you’re dying Braum jumps out of nowhere and saves your ass, not by defeating the enemy for you but by pulling you out and taking you to a safe camp and taking care of you until you wake up the next day and he tells you to not go there till you’re stronger. you still lost the battle and can go fight it again, you just didn’t die, plus Braum gets to do what he does in the lore, randomly show up at last minute and save some poor soul turning him into a peoples hero legend.

My take on the 7 raids Necrit made up (for educational or hype purposes): Ascension of Mount Targon - I love the idea of the raid reaching the absolute peak, but I agree with Koroto about the 1 in 10000 reaching the peak being too small a number for every player being allowed to run it. You can't reach the peak unless a celestial/aspect of a celestial lets you reach it. Usually you become an aspect when you reach the top. I have 2 different ideas on how Riot could do this. They could make it like Diablo Immortal or D3 with Paragon levels, and to unlock Paragon (Or whatever they name it), you must ascend Targon to speak with the celestials in Targon Prime. It could be a solo quest that appears as soon as you reach level cap, no real need to make it a raid. The second idea also steals from Diablo Immortal kind of (can you tell I played that game?), with their Immortal and Shadow Clans system. Of all the top (maybe top 10?) guilds, each one has to complete the raid up the mountain (the devs make it extremely hard for the first raid so teamwork is absolutely required), and from all the guilds who make it to the top, they fight it out PVP style (maybe the top 5 or 10 in each guild against the others) in Targon Prime. The final guild standing becomes the new Aspects, gaining temporary cosmetics (glowing eyes, radiant aura, something) and a buff for PVE/PVP. Every so often (each month maybe?) there is a new raid and the reigning guild sends one of their members against each of the guilds as the final boss (gaining a giant buff as befitting the final boss of a raid). If the Aspects lose more raids than they win, a new set of Aspects will reign. Idk if they would want to do that, but this would be pretty thematic for Targon. The Darkin Raid - I don't like this as a raid, but if it does become one, I expect it to drop some great weapon loot. We already have Kayn being able to resist the Darkin Scythe, why not let the MMO players do the same with different Darkin weapons? Maybe it becomes like an Archon form that gives omnivamp (heal from attacks and damaging abilities) as well as a few new abilities? This is sarcasm of course, there is only one record of a non-void mortal killing an Ascended God Warrior or Darkin, and that's Jax during the Shuriman conflict that ended with Icathia summoning the Void to the world. They are immortals. I don't like having a raid where we're supposed to kill not one Darkin, but MULTIPLE, as FODDER, then kill or seal away Aatrox? No way they would do that, right?. If we get a Darkin raid, I think it's going to be to seal away one of the weapons, maybe we have to try and head off someone trying to take the Darkin powers for themselves, and instead of killing the final boss we have to separate the dominated person from the weapon and seal the weapon away so the Darkin can't escape. That sounds like the players preventing a new world-ending threat from coming along. The Raid on Nerimazeth - This sounds like a raid Riot would go for with a couple of caveats. If Kayn has plot armour for being a champion, why doesn't Renekton? Why would we fight Renekton at all instead of trying to run away from a literal nearly immortal Demigod? Other than that I think it would be fine. Maybe as we beat the Baccai back, we see in the background Renekton is doing the same, Renekton is crazy and filled with rage, so attacking the Baccai is maybe possible with the plot. But in no way should we be allowed to kill Renekton. Other than that, I think fighting Xerath would be a good raid end. You can't really kill Xerath, he is arcane energy, so defeating him would probably look like the energy dissipating and the armor falling to the ground (basically his death animation in League but we know that he will come back). Until Xerath regains his form, we are safe. The Baccai are maybe not immortal, it doesn't really specify on the wiki, so maybe we can kill them, and all the arcane servants and followers would make for a really cool miniboss battlefield. I can just picture during the entire miniboss battle comets of arcane energy are dropping on the party so you need to be mobile yet still hit your shots. Once the battle is over, you see it's Xerath shooting these artillery blasts, and to get to Xerath you need to go through a maze with arcane energy firing through it that you will need to dodge. Then the Xerath fight has him lock himself down as he does 3 or 4 different attack patterns while he is trying to summon more power through the new Sun Disk. The Renata Raid - I think this is a reach, Silco was supposed to be added to the game (like we can see in TFT), but instead we got Renata Glasc. She is basically the stand-in for Silco in the main game. The plot he talks about sounds more like just a questline than a whole raid. The "raid" portion of it sounds very bland, the only enemies are normal people and maybe raging people. I think if they do anything similar to this, it's for an introduction to Raids in general (this also aligns with my belief that Piltover/Zaun will be the main hub city for fast travel). Sorry Renata, but you're just a human with influence, not literal Gods like the others here. The top 3 are absolutely going to be in there. Maybe not as a raid, but definitely as an event of some kind. Viego - (I will say, I see the resemblance to Dante, especially that pose with the BotRK on his shoulder) is maybe a raid, but I would think of it as more of a World Event akin to the Ruination/Sentinels of Light event League of Legends got a while ago, or even the world bosses in Diablo Immortal, but done better than either of those. Black Mist shows up in random places and you have to beat the hordes of souls commanded by Viego, maybe like defending a siege, but I'd prefer it to be more like a survival (COD Zombies style, kind of) event where you have to go into the mist for a set time or defeat a number of waves, where the waves get progressively harder as you go, ending in a boss battle of some kind, maybe have each location randomize one of 4 or 5 bosses (Ledros, Rhasa, Hecarim, etc., though Kalista is like in her own world in the lore so I doubt she could be controlled and Thresh would probably outright refuse if it didn't benefit him), then we can give them each drops so to get a full set you need to play during the event, get to a Black Mist spot (give like 10 minutes of warning for people), then be lucky enough to get the right boss AND get the drop for the full set. You want engagement? There you go, a reason to grind out the event. Morde - No notes, Morde is basically like Leoric/Skeleton King in Diablo, sending a tsunami of souls under his command at the party, and maybe there is a second phase to the final boss fight where he sends the party (and himself) into the Death Realm, like he does in League of Legends, where they finish the fight there. Probably won't see Veigar though, there's very little chance he wants to go get tortured again, even if the whole ordeal turned him "evil" (he IS evil, stop laughing!). Howling Abyss/Frostguard Citadel - Lissandra has one champion chilling with her as well, the self-proclaimed Troll King, Trundle, so I can maybe see him as a side-boss with his ice pillars and just running us down with his giant club of true ice. That is, IF we start the raid against Lissandra, which in itself may have long-lasting and devastating effects on the world. I would personally like to go into The Void at some point for a raid. Like to stop Bel'Veth from consuming reality or to hunt down Kha'Zix or Vel'Koz or one of the other Void creatures.

For the ppl that dont know league lore these end bosses that Necrit is bringing up would absolutly not be your base game raid bosses. Most of them are extremely powerful and are based in regions not likly to launch with the base game and as Koroto said it would cause some major power problems for the player caracter and would be like if wow hade ICC Lich King or Legion Sargaras as raid 1 in Vanilla. If we take Mordekeiser for example it toke the combined military power of the entire northern continent to stand up to him. He threatened the entire continent on hes own, not with an army just him alone was an overwhelming threat. When they eventually defeated him it wasent even the ppl fighting him that did it but the secret group under Noxus called the Black Rose that managed to seperate hes spirit that hade been fused together with hes armore. They are eventually gonna show up atleast the last 3 but they are for sure ultimate world ending threats so they wont appear for quite a while.

Like I said before in other videos. there are time mages in Shurima the Desert place. and I think you can make a DLC type where you can talk to the Time mages and if you want to experience some events that already happened like Viego's down fall, or the first time Mordekaiser (Sahn-Uzal) war againts the whole continent, or the war of Asceded against the void of Icathia. there are a lot of opportunities to get from the time mages without interfiering the main time line you just experience them you can't change what happens.

I agree, I don't think Mount Targon should be a raid. Partially because it's dealing with celestial beings that we as mortals really shouldn't be able to interact with, but also because Targon is a HUGE region and I want it to be an explorable area, not just a raid.

You might like the last riot forge game "Song of Nunu" It's just a chill and easy story-telling game but you meet Lissandra and learn a lot about the lore of the Freljord.

34:22 Okay, okay, okay. It does sound funny when Necrit phrases it that way. But the guy is a telling tldr version of the story. There's a bit more nuance to Azir's decisions. Basically, Azir wanted to free slaves but he was unable/unwilling to for political reasons. Just outright freeing slaves would have caused massive uproar in Shuriman society, that Azir wanted to wait for the right time to do it. The guy didn't want to be Abe Lincoln and cause a Civil War. So he waited for the moment right before he was about to become a god to decree that slaves were now free. But by then, it was too little too late and Xerath had already made the plans, then he killed the Emperor and fucked around with the sun disc and single-handedly destroyed the Empire.

there is indeed an audiobook version of the ruination it's on Audible also just as an fyi i haven't finished the video but this video wasn't meant to be a raids in order of progression you can have these raids come at different instances and require a lot more different they are just located at different parts of the world. remember that even his suggession would have the 1st raid he mentioned as one of the last ones as targon would be one of the last expantions.

I really wish we're just mercenaries throughout the adventure. Too many MMOs just make you ascend to godhood because they rely too heavily on powercreep. League of Legends have plenty of basically legendary status as warriors but without having to become gods themselves. The best example I can think of is Cithria. She has cards that follow her progress from a recruit, to a squire, to an elite knight. Now she's a leader of her own battalion but she's not a god. She's not even a champion. Like, there's no way she'll solo the celestials. I wish our characters' progress will just mirror hers. It would make sense to have raid groups filled with people at that level compared to becoming an angel or a demon or an something that is akin to a blackhole generator.

I think it would be cool if we as players would be members of explorers guilds. Legends of Runeterra recently introduced them, and I think it would be perfect fit for player characters. They are roaming the world doing quests and can be anyone: humans, yordles, vastaya, etc. (one the explorers is even a freaking octopus in mech suit 😂). Plus these guilds come from Piltover, so this way Piltover would be our home city/trade post/quest hub (which is good since there are basically no enemies for us to kill there) while other places in the world would be for us to explore.

Not winning the raid on the mountain is actually great because there is lore to support the fact that many great beings have tried and failed and the "graveyard" fould be a treasure room of loot dropped by failed attempts.

37:10 Renata Glasc raid, I think, would be similar to a Far Cry story. The Close's far cry game similar to this is Either Far Cry 5 or 6 cause the main Villain is similar of what is Renata is motive control the routes of resources. So yeah, that is why I imagine.

I could not agree more with your takes, I thinks its better to leave these super high godlike celestial beings alone. The idea of fighting your way up to mountain to not reach it sounds amazing funnily enough. I think "killing" those godlike being would mess with the world too much, maybe. Like the baron nasher example. I'd rather fight the ancient actual baron then his celestial father.

I actually do not like how they unified all of the cannon bc they did it just for arcane: The series was based on the characters and the worldbuilding of LoL but it was essentially different in a lot of aspects if you read the actual lore, Idk why they made it different but most of us just accepted it as an alternative universe (Like the MCU and the comics) and moved on happily. Now since arcane took off like it did they will try to merge the lore of the game to make it look like the series, instead of the other way around, so that means that all of the stories that we fell in love with over the last decade are going to change or be deleted, which sucks. Don't get me wrong the lore was all over the place, there were some outdated dialogues that characters kept in the game from before retcons and the short stories were not assembled in a tidy way for new people to explore, also there were a lot of runeterra cards that did not make sense and were not cannon at all. But that wasn't because of the writing itself, it was more of Riot's negligence with the lore (the stupid sentinel event proved that), I'm not saying that Arcane's story was worse than the game's, both are great, I just think that it should've stayed as a separate one

i think more mmos need to do what ff14 does and make the story itself a singleplayer story while your party is literally your party as if you're in a singleplayer rpg. for example, in ff14 when you get a cutscene, YOU are the main character despite there being other players in your party because the story of the game revolves around YOU not a thousand people.

They probably should not ever give players the hero status, have them as elite warrior at most but dont make them a savoir figure, keep them as just average men and women trying to survive in the world while only ever hinting at god level threats.
