They are specifically trained for situations like this just the same as military animals are for specific jobs. The police operation in Blackpool certainly prevented escalation of violence by containing the most violent of these protestors compared with other parts of the country where rioting got out of control and the burning and looting that followed and the destruction of businesses and property mainly committed by professional rioters who travel throughout the country to do just that. Peaceful protest is one thing but violent protest is totally different and causes more violence and hatred which harms everyone if allowed to escalate.

The original Punk Rockers of the 1970s would have had no qualms about joining in riots like this, in fact, they revelled in it but unlike these rioters here, the Punks focus of hate was more on the elite and the establishment rather than ordinary people, whether they were indigenous or non-indigenous immigrants come to this country. The focus of hate here, today, in 2024 is on out of control immigration, and I certainly agree that's a problem but I think it goes deeper than that. I think the ruling elite are causing these social tensions deliberately and getting ordinary people fighting against each other. In that way, I reckon those Punks back then were smarter because they cut through all the other issues (immigration was one of the issues back then too) and they got straight to the root of it, whereas here, everybody is getting blamed and targeted by different sides, Immigrants are getting blamed and targeted. Ordinary British natives are getting blamed and targeted.. everyone is getting blamed and targeted...ACCEPT for the rich elite. Go figure!

They didnt seem to be rebelling against the establishment too much to me. They seemed quite happy that the police turned up and allowed them to continue insulting members of the public. Fairly sure that "freedom from consequence" would have been a familiar phrase and well used by lots of them. I am well aware of this subn-cultures behaviour from long association with them, and they are certainly not pro-police when sitting comfortably at home doing speed or in the majority threatening violence on people they disagree with. Id also wager that they would have been strongly in the "defund the police" camp when the riots were going off in 2020. What an incredible show of hypocrisy. Cosplaying writ large unfortunately. I'm not defending either side, far too many of them were acting like idiots and Im personally getting pretty sick of all the double standards on show by a lot of people. Because they've been told to antagonise, and arrest as many of these protesters as they can. It's all under the purpose of dehumanising them into this "far right thugs" narrative, rather than the reality of a working class whose government has ignored them, actively betrayed them, and treats them like dirty second class.
