Great show, I love the way you'll both talk about anything and it's just as funny and whitty as when it's just about footy, the other week when u were taking about the hotdog guys with the metal trollies and the joke about where he washed his hands had me in tears cos I forgot about them lot, so funny and brought back some funny memories, look forward to ur show after the forest game

the difference between line-caught and conventional trawlering is simple, trawling catches hundreds, even thousands more fish at a time, but it also devastates the local environment for years, and dredging is even worse, whereas line caught means 1 fish at a time so it is much, much slower and thats before you even take into account the fuel usage, if you think filling your car up is steep, try filling up a tank on a boat as well as maintaining all the kit on the boat. Comparing a fine dining restaurant, especially one in London to xyz chippy on the Wirral is also a bit daft.

Weather forecasts don't say there'll be whatever percent chance it'll rain, what they mean is that when it rains, whatever percent AMOUNT OF AREA will be rained on. That's why you'll see 'heavy rain, 80%' etc when looking online. It would indicate that 80% of the location will get a smidge wet.

Weather in urban areas can change dramatically between weekdays and the weekend purely because hundreds of thousands of people are kicking back and relaxing at hone instead of expending energy and the heat produced from working. One person on their own might not feel like a lot, but combined, that's one fuck of a lot of hot air doing things with the atmosphere.

We go to a chippy at Whitby semi frequently because my other half is obsessed with the place and for five of us it usually comes in at about £70-80 - which is enough to make me wince a bit but i don't think i've paid £37 for a single plate of food in my life.

4 penny bag of chips, those where the days, the chips where tastier then, think they cooked them in 'animal fat those days, now they use vegetable oil, healthier they say , but they DONT TASTE the same, or could it be because our chips where wrapped in newspaper ?😊

Not in the industry but surely the point about line caught fish is that it is not large scale or farmed? So while not necessarily tastier the cost to catch the fish is more than a boat doing large scale fishing that may be harming the environment. Still too much to pay though for fish and 8 chips.

@@thelatechallengepodcast go look up the price of line caught turbot , its upwards of £45kg (on the bone) thats for fresh uncooked , then you have to get an expert to cut it up , then an expert to cook it .
