By far Insomnium ! The last two albums of Insomnium were chosen to be the "best melodic death albums OF THE YEAR" by various metal magazines, such as Metal Storm. So..it's about the best band in this genre in the world..and metal in general. You can't beat the feelings and emotions you fell by listening to Insomnium, with any power metal band.

I loved the speed of Gamma Ray and Helloween, I also loved the melodic tones in While we sleep and the contrasts between the voices. You already did Paint A New World but The Saints, Dreambound, As Long As I Fall, Heaven Tells No Lie, Can Do It, See The Night and Final Fortune are fucking classic A type Helloween songs

Getting into power metal, you'll need to check out Iced Earth. The guitar player in that band works with the singer for Blind Guardian on a side project as well... but for Iced Earth music, I recommend "Melancholy", "Watching Over Me", "Burning Times", "Dantes Inferno".... and many more

RGC509 There is US Power Metal vs European (Teutonic/German Power Metal). US Power Metal’s main influence is NWoBHM while European Power Metal was influenced by German Speed Metal. US Power = Manowar, Armored Saint, Metal Church, Vicious Rumors, Liege Lord, Halloween etc
