Compare a hellcat displacement to a Bmw,Supra, the rb platform displacement and that’s where you get impressed at least form an engineering stand point. Euro cars squeezes more out of motors than American motors. The s2k made 240 na from a 2 liter motor. 6+ liters boosted makes 800+ stock 3+ liters boosted makes 600+ stock 2+ liters boosted Japanese with laptop to the moon.

Stop the ignorance. You for some reason left out GM ecotec's that ran into the 5's, Dodge's SRT4's that make whatever power your wallet can handle and fords ecoboost 4cyl's. In America those engines just don't sell as well as a V8, it's simple. We even had fast turbo 4/6cyl in the 80's.
@setorozco96595 ай бұрын
Talking about top fuel/dragsters being “hemi’s” hemi doesn’t mean mopar/dodge… nothing in those motors have anything to do with mopar… hemispherical motors have been around before mopar started doing it. Yall ignorant

Serious question to anyone who owns a Hellcat or that knows about the platform. He says they can make 1,400 hp on stock motor right? so why is it so hard for them to run a good number? The only guy ive seen run good number is boosted luckey. But that aint stock. Im talking about compared to like coyotes they run good 1/4 mile numbers when boosted correctly. I know weight is a big factor but some coyotes in the 4,000 lbs range and still run low 8s some even get lucky run 7s on stock motor. May not be for long but they run it yet haven't seen a Hellcat run a 7. compared to coyotes ect.

True Mopar guy here......search the local salvage yards for a Gen3 hemi 5.7 (09-up). They have Eagle heads. Have a NAG1 (5 speed auto) tranny freshened up or built, have a good Mopar shop stroke the block to a 6.5 (397ci), add a good cam, a stall converter, long tubes, a 6.1 or 392 intake manifold, a good tune, swap in big brakes from a Charger Pursuit, upgrade to the differential of your choice and swap it into your SXT. If you do your homework you'll end up with a budget built 10 sec car that has way more potential depending on what power adder you can afford to bolt-on in the future. You end up with a fast, fun car with more than enough power until you can afford boost at least. This is not the popular answer but it's being done around the country while folks are arguing about high dollar Hellcat builds. Trust me.
