Andrew Scott discusses how he tackled Tom Ripley's sexuality in the new Netflix series, “Ripley.”
“My feeling is that he's a queer character in the sense that he's very other.”
The drama is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels.
Tom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. Tom's acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.

elliot/freddy should have KEPT their back to the camera...totally messed with the suspension of disbelief and was a major flaw in the production (except for the pandering aspect) due to the "what is he? she? they? wha?" of every scene they appeared in...even in an artsy world Greenleaf would not have taken to Freddy.

Beautifully filmed but far too long and drawn out - I couldn’t stick with it

Eliot made a terrible Freddie. Dear God it took me out of the show with the awful wooden acting.
