Nice tutorial, great delivery and one of my favourite features! You don't in fact need to select the clips you want to ripple changes to before making changes - you can select them afterwards but you mustn't change which clip you're parked on, otherwise it won't work. The record of what changes were made is reset as soon as you move to a different clip. This function is related to another of my favourites, Preview Memory (and Original Memory). So long as you don't change which clip you're parked on, you can always hit Preview Memory and it will toggle back to the state that the node was in when you parked on the clip. Move away to another clip and this gets reset. I think of it as a preview buffer which allows you to toggle on/off what changes you've made but it gets committed to the node as soon as you move to another clip. Often much better than lots of undo's ! Ripple changes works in a similar way.

Oh amazing - I had issues in the past without selecting the clips beforehand, but I just did a test and it's working fine for me now, thanks for the correction! I've never played with the Preview Memory function, that's very nifty. Surely that's my next video haha 😁
