I always felt identified with this song from the point of view of my family starting to lose everything (job, house, and even the very family), and myself as a teenager having to fight harder than the rest to achieve anything I wanted. Then now I'm also feeling identified but from a political standpoint, looking at the reality of my falling country (Argentina), it's crisis, and how the governments show themselves as "holding us up", but in reality they are just burying us further down. And if the course of things keep its path, the unevitable runaway into exile. Feels like this is the very song that fits my life. But I'm no fool though, I know I'm still lucky and I'm neither the hungry or the cold. I'm just stuck held down, further down each day but still have the chance to fight against it. Sadly there are people, the people for whom the song is really about, that are held way further down than me and can only fight for survival. For those out there, my hopes for you to have the strength to hold your ground, and mainly the strength to still get yourselves a proper education while fighting starvation, cause that's the very tool that can make you really strike back out of misery. No one can fight for us, they'll just let us down. We have to be the ones to stand our own grounds.

This song is so beautifully written. You can feel the anger the pain the sorrow that every human may experience at some point in this life. This is a reminder to me to always treat your fellow man/woman with respect and kindness. If peace were preached more this would be a better world. And i dont mean preach as religious i just meant preach to be kind as a whole humanity. I have no time for hate or grudges and maybe this can encourage someone to be appreciative of just being alive .

This reminds of my teenage years. I used to always listen to them a lot with my best friend from high school every time we used to meet and I remember taking the train to his town and blasting Rise Against every time. He loved Motorhead as well and got me into them which I didn't listen as much as Judas Priest. Kevin was such a special person. And now that he passed away by his own hands I'm imprisoned in the hell of my own mind, longing for a break from reality, but sometimes, I come here to remind myself that there was a time of my life where I was genuinely happy. Every moment is the last we have, cherish it wholeheartedly and with the hope that things will get better eventually. I hope you found a place that you can call home, brother.

In primary school we had the chance to choose one favortite track we know and play it on a CD in front of the class so every student could rate it. I remember choosing this one, not even fully understanding the lyrcis because I'm born in a country where we don't learn English in primary. I was like 9 years old, and now, 13 years later proud of my choice. Most of us didn't really understand the lyrics, but I felt this song was about something important. Hits me differently.

The vid gets dislikes because it is completely paradoxical in nature: You have a song which is, broadly speaking, denouncing globalization and presumably, its effect upon US industries, its economies and the workers that support it. Merely 8 seconds into it, the singer is holding a microphone. There is a 98% chance it is a Shure 58 (which are *the* standard microphones for "live" vocal performances). Shure Inc. shifted production from Illinois to Mexico in 1983, and into China in 2005. Also, be sure to check 3m18s. The kick drum is Tama = made in Japan.
