Sandy was the one that Pitch was really afraid of, because the nightmares weren't really his power, he fad figured out how to corrupt Sandman's dream sand. And they showed that Sandman could take it back with little effort. Pitch had to wait until he had so much that he could overwhelm him. And once the children weren't afraid anymore, they could break his hold over it. I always thought that Sandy would have been the most powerful of the five. Of all the representations, most people would lose their belief in the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny first, then Santa Claus. Jack Frost wasn't even someone anyone really believed in. He was a minor story character. But even as adults, people have good dreams, so their belief in the dreams and him, probably lingered the longest. I know from the books that Jack Frost is FAR more powerful, but this animation doesn't address that. I really loved the moment when the Tooth Fairy knocked out one of Pitch's teeth. Because he caught and kept the coin she gave him, she was entitled to one of his teeth. Her power can work in reverse, it seems.

Yes I love all of that. And even I feel like in quite a few countries people don’t actually believe in the Easter bunny anyway. He’s just a nice wee story. I only know one person where I am from in which their parents actually told them the Easter bunny is real. So I would even say him less than the tooth fairy.

@catinthehat12 you can grow and still have the soul of a child, what makes children joyful is hope and the ability to dream in the worst of times. One may think that children are oblivious but they are so observant and intelligent, so you can grow and still have that what makes you a child and it's all the good things in the world: love, hope, peace and dreams, in the end, just give good and follow your dream of making others happy.

If you pay attention to Jack's family including all of his sisters, there is a blonde girl with *green eyes. I think and so do many that Jamie and Sopie are descendants of Jack's family. Probably started with the sister he saved. The blonde hair and green eyes may be a recessive gene.

Interesting thing to consider about this movie, the older the spirit, the more powerful they are. The Moon pre-dates humanity, so is the greatest spirit when primitive man first wondered about the 'light in the darkness' (at night). Then as humanity developed their intellect, they began to dream, so Sandy would be the next strongest, and so on. It's really cool to think about.
@samuelvincent557
@samuelvincent557 3 жыл бұрын
Not only the oldest Guardian but, in my opinion, the strongest. Belief is what fuels them. Good dreams and the power they hold, is probably the longest lasting belief of the five. Easter and the Tooth fairy are, relatively, short lived beliefs. Santa is a bit longer. But for only a few years, usually. And Jack Frost was never believed in enough to manifest. But happy dreams and nightmares? Even adults in their later years still believe in them. That was why Pitch had to get rid of Sandy first.
@swanpride
@swanpride 2 жыл бұрын
Nah, it is all about belief, not age. Though I suspect that Jack is so powerful because he believes in himself and he IS a child after all.
@samuelvincent557
@samuelvincent557 2 жыл бұрын
@@swanpride True, it is about belief. But as children grow up, almost all of them lose that belief in Santa, the Easter Bunny and the others. Also, the Guardians say their purpose is to protect children, so it may be their belief that is important.
@janmikaldouglas2767
@janmikaldouglas2767 8 ай бұрын
And when the children stepped up to fight for the Guardians at the end, they were denying the nightmares - so what seems like a Deux Ex Machina when Sandy comes back actually make sense. When you banish nightmares, when you deny them, you get restful sleep and pleasant dreams.

There's also books about them and Jack wasn't ever human, he has a story before that. He was called Nightlight and was a literal star tasked with protecting baby Sandman from Pitch. But he became human and forgot it all, then forget everything once again as he became Jack Frost. That's why he's so powerful, he's original form is a star.

Bunny's backstory in the books is, in my opinion, very tragic. He's actually a part of an alien race called the Pooka - an extremely intelligent, warrior monk type of people. (They can shape-shift!) And because of Pitch, who betrayed them, they are essentially extinct. Bunny is the very last of his kind. (That we, or he, knows of.) He came to earth towards the beginnings of its existence, and quite literally shaped it. (He wanted to make it egg-shaped, but that didn't work out...) He also made the continents, and Australia is his favorite. He has an extreme obsession with eggs, and chocolate does things to him, so he doesn't make a habit of eating it. The only Guardian older than him is Sandy, as Sandy is a Star Pilot. (Another Alien) Otherwise, he's got the others beat by millions of years.

I was so depressed I stopped eating, doing things I enjoyed, I cried everyday. I watched rise of the guardians in 2019, but one day I decided to rewatch it. when I did, I smiled and laughed genuinely for the first time in forever. when I saw the title appear on the screen, I happy stimmed, running back in forth from the living room to my moms room, I was so happy. after watching it, i started writing, something I love so much. months later, I finished my ROTG fan fiction, “A Angel Rises”, i have so many other ROTG related fan fictions in the works. thank you, ROTG fandom, and William Joyce (the developer of ROTG)

This movie is one of my fav ♥️ but the thing is the books are way more interesting.. It explores the background story of pitch black, jack frost and the man in the moon and their relationship . SPOILERS!!!! . Pitch black has one of the most heartbreaking story i have ever heard that is why he is on of my fav "villians" .. The truth is He wasnt always the nightmare king but a golden general called kozimos pintcher who protected a golden kingdom far away from earth..this kingdom was ruled by a kind king who trusted kozimos to protect his kingdom from the darkness and nightmares So with an army behind him he manged to capture the darkness and locked it in seals meant to prisoned it.. But this prison needed a guardian So the king chose kozimos for this cost.. Away from home and from his duaghter whom he loved dearly he graw tired and desperate to see her.. So the darkness used her voice to trick him.. Thinking she was prisoned with them.. "she" villian cried for her father to save her and in the end kozimos couldnt take it anymore and was forced to open the seals to save her but instead he got posessed by the darkness and became pitch black...he changed his golden warriors to nightmares and nightmare men and with them he destroyed the kingdom he once swore to protect and killed the king and the queen.. However.. before they were killed they had a son called manny who was one years old So in order to protect him the king and the queen used a powerful magic and tears to create a star called the nightlight who took the baby away to the moon.. pitch black followed them and fought the nightlight into a battle So big it ended up freezing them both on earth in a frozen lake .. After So many years the baby grow up and became the man in the moon and with his power he tried to wake up his nightlight.. But in doing So he woke up pitch black too and that was the start of the dark ages.. On The other hand the nightlight tried to stop him but with half of his power locked he failed to do So So he decided to wait for the other guardians.. He lived among the humen and fell in love.. He loved the human life and decided to became human himself.. So he locked away his memories and the rest of his power and born again as a baby named Jackson overland frost..Who died to protect his "sister" and in this the man in the moon woke him up again as jack frost and didnt tell him his story because he knew that is what the nightlight wanted in the first place.. That explains why pitch black knew the man in the moon and jack frost .. And why jack frost was So powerful.. And the reason why he was invicible and doesnt remember his human life is because jack died in the lake while all the other guardian didnt die they recieved powers from man in the moon that is why they can be seen and believed in.. There is a Beautiful fanfiction that explians the story way better than the movie.. It is jack frost /pitch black fanfiction with two parts the first called from the darkness we raised / the second called into the shadows we fall... Enjoy and remember.. In the end.. Believe in jack frost ♥️❤️

The 'snowman' you're thinking of is Frosty the Snowman. Jack Frost is a personification of the winter season, similar to ones from other cultures such as Old Man Winter (Greek) and General Winter (Russian). The oldest mentions of the name are from the 1700's (so roughly 300 years ago), and over the years he was given a sprite-like appearance and a mischievous character by poets and writers, including L. Frank Baum (the author of the 'Wizard of Oz' books). The current story around him is that he's responsible for painting the leaves red in the fall, and painting frost on your window in winter. His name pops up in a few Christmas songs like the famous 'The Christmas Song' ("Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose"), and another called 'Little Jack Frost, Get Lost'). If you've seen the 1964 Rankin/Bass stop-motion movie 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer', they made a whole bunch of other Christmas movies; Jack appears briefly in 'Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July', and has his own movie where he's also an invisible winter spirit wanting to be seen.

Jack Frost is usually depicted as an elfin sort of figure with a paintbrush, "painting" frost on windowpanes, and sometimes painting leaves into their autumn colors. "Jack Frost nipping at your nose" is a way to describe the way your nose gets red and cold in the winter. Not sure where the saying comes from, actually...

For the tooth mouse, the European Division guy, they tell you that a little mouse goes to collect your teeth when you put them under your pillow and would leave a small amount of money (in Italy people call it "Il Topolino dei Denti", but i hear more people talk about the Tooth Fairy than them, so it just depends tbh)

Pitch hitting sandman was such an heartbreaking moment back when I saw this cause firstly Sandman was so cute but in second watch I realized how important was his powers. Unlike Santa, Bunny and Tooth, humans can grow to forget about them as they grow adult but dreams are the thing that goes on with them till they die so Sandy's rank was too high for literally anyone. As Pitch explained, he learned to "manipulate/corrupt" Sandy's powers but that can not stop Sandy so Pitch spend quite lots of time trying to convert many of Sandy's dreams into nightmares until he has enough to give him a blow, he waited for right opportunity by keeping other guardians occupied and attacked Sandy behind his back. All the kids needed to do was get over their fears in order to keep their faith in guardians intact however with nightmares on they can't anymore. That's where Jack comes in handy. Jack died while trying to teach his sister to get over her fears. He didn't even needed to have faith in guardians (he was kinda adult) to find the joy of life, that's why he was a guardian (that's my theory of movie, I know things are different about his origin in book). Jack helped children rebound the fear and instead find fun in all things, fun can overshadow fear. When the children faced their fears, the nightmares lost their purpose and turned back into dreams which eventually revived Sandman since Pitch hit him with nightmarish weapon. Also I would highly recommend Brother Bear, Treasure Planet, Hercules, Legend of the guardians: owls of Ga'Hoole, The Adventures of TinTin and Meet the Robinsons.

Jack's power is the power of games, the games we use to get through hard times or when we are scared. That's why he's linked to winter. It's when it's dark and cold outside that kids need him the most.

To answer one of the questions you asked in the video about Jack’s staff: His staff is not the source of his power. He is still a winter spirit without it, and can still cause snowfall if it’s not with him. But it works as a conduit for his powers. The magic comes from within him, but is channeled through the staff so it’s easier for him to control. So not a source, but a conduit.

I've always loved this movie, but it would've been cool if they added a scene of like a terrified kid going to their parents about nightmares involving Santa Claus and the Easter bunny being hurt or whatever, so to calm the kid the parent says they aren't real, just fairy tales. It would help show why so many kids abandoned their belief so fast

She loved the story, only problem is that I didn't write my name on it so she asked the whole class who made this story about Jack Frost cuz she liked it so much, so EVERYONE KNEW THAT I MADE A JACK FROST FANFIC!

The little mouse in 16:37 is also responsible to pick up the teeth from children from under their pillows and leave some money instead. In Spanish it is known as "Ratón Pérez" and Spanish speakers use it much more instead of the Tooth fairy , but I'm not sure if it's very known among English speakers. You can look it up as "Perez the mouse", but I believe the majority of the results will be in Spanish.
