A song by the lyrical master Bob Dylan, I shall Be Released has touched our hearts for many years and it is an honor to share with you our rendition. It feels reverent and unassuming in its lilt and sway, a folk ballad of soul and grit whose chorus is the medicine we need in these times. “I see my light come shining. From the west into the east. Any day now. Any day now. I shall be released”. We cannot know precisely what the poet Bob Dylan meant by these words, but when we sing it we sing it for the release of shackles in the mind. Of the lands. Of bodies and spirits in all places. We dedicate our version of this song to Palestine as well as the Israeli hostages still being held. May humans get a grip on how precious life is and how hard it is to create one.

It looks like this album is full of covers, and while I understand what you are saying, for those of us who love Rising Appalachia and also Bob Dylan and this song, it’s all good, like sitting in a living room with them singing Bob Dylan together. Sometimes it takes a second listen. Take care.

I've heard a hundred covers of this song too but I think I like this one the best. To stick out against such well known renditions going back over fifty years is a big accomplishment. I'm a Dylan nut and have seen him seven times. I'm actually usually sick of this song but this cover makes me love it again.
