When the new chapter released I thought they would at least have a regular 10 season structure to at least get you attached to the new maps and continue improving the game but ofc not. And then the quality declined more and more as they stopped having their own Fortnite theme and moving into a generic style.

I hate how inconsistent they are with the weapon models and rarities. Don't understand why they have the updated gun models for epic/legendary snipers, scoped riffles and rockets and then randomly add those rarities to the normal burst, and how the pump has its old rarities but the tac doesn't. Alot of people, me included would've loved to see the purple tac but epic is very indecisive about such a simple things for no reason

Problems: -turbo build -no day / night cycle -didn’t bring back og UI -didn’t bring back old movement -no og graphics -og gun models for pump, AR, burst and blue bolt only Smaller things: -no og mini map After playing a few games i found some more problems: -impossible to find shield after spawn (map is too small for 100 modern players, movement makes it worse as people move around quicker and weapon damage is way higher so you take more damage, very big problem overall)

As we knew the whole time - Turbo Building, the goofy wannabe realistic Sonic movement speed and the movement overall, animations and the MAIN thing, Sweats are ruining the experience alot. I didn't win a single game today and I played quiet a few of them. Every single time, there was a sweat, building a 5 star hotel over me and quadruple edited me. I don't remember that there was a Turbo Building in Season 1. Epic even went to that detail that they didn't add Duos and Trios, just like back then. So what's the problem doing these extremely IMPORTANT aspects different, when they don't have the problem doing such pointless details like these, instead of the real things that really affects the game.. The logic of Epic is really over a normal human thinking last years.

Bro, you literally just said EXACTLY what I’ve been saying. I predicted we were going to have all these problems yesterday when I found out that they were keeping new movement and turbo. They went out of there way to make it authentic down to the most minute details, and of all things they could have left out, they left out the one thing that actually affects the way the game is played. Literally the movement and the building are the two things that create the OG experience the most. You’re right there was no turbo in season 1, and there was none of this movement crap either. Although the storms are too fast, but I think they sped up the storms because of the sped up movement cause they never use to be that fast.

The whole game I hide because if I DARE to click the left mouse button, Im gonna be greeted with a double stair and a full tower in less than 10 seconds. My last match I was hiding on a guard tower near salty springs and this random dude sees me and doesn't hesitate to start building at full speed. I killed him but I was at like 20hp. I know its reduntant to have so many different modes but ive been dreaming of a third gamemode of og. Could be called RLX mode or something. Made specifically for those chill gamers who just want to have fun and good vibes. It would have the old movement to keep the pacing nice and calm. Then the anti sweat addition off a 1 second cool down between each build, to entice people to actually take time to build forts (que title card) and just as the cherry on top, a setting to have the old UI. Fortnite OG already lost over half its player base on release day, and keep in mine it’s a Friday, supposedly when everyone comes back from work and school for the weekend, meanwhile when OG launched in 2023, it had 2.4 Million people for 3 days straight. The main issues with OG are these 4 things: 1. The Battle Pass. You now pay full price for half a battle pass and also get no v-bucks in return. Scummy move but epic if you ask me. 2. The building. Building as a whole has obviously gotten more competitive since 7 years ago, and it shows in the player counts that this difference is just hurting the people who played back then. A mode simply without turbo build might be nice, maybe even reducing mats (even tho everyone loves the 999 back) 3. Graphics. I don’t just mean the lighting. So many icons were reverted to their season 1 model like grenades, but the tac still looks like the chapter 2 one? Added with the lighting difference and it doesnt exactly feel the same at all. Not to mention the OG map UI would have been such a nice touch, but instead we have a very modernized one. 4. The lobby. They put in such little effort for the lobby. The old menu? Nope. Forcing you into the old music even if you dont own it? Nope. But adding a background? Of course! Doesn’t feel the same even if I add the og music pack from season x and thats definitely problematic. Overall I am extremely disappointed by this first season. I think emulators of Season 4 and Season 7 like EZFN are doing a better job than Epic

I agree with your analysis at most points, but some points dont seem contextualized enough: - Shields are rare because back then they weren`t that common to find, get ANY og clip and you`ll see that the person who recorded probably had no shields too or if they did, it wasnt full shields. - Double Pump is back because everybody asked for it last time, ask for it, deal with it - Hitscan is back because it was like that for the whole chapter 1, and their main idea is to recreate the chapter one style of gameplay The real reason as to why it doesn`t feel OG and people will soon stop playing the game is simply because of sweats. They were non existent back then, no one knew how to do anything with builds, the only way to fix this is by disabling turbo build (If they do so, i`m 100% sure all those sweaty kids are gonna start crying to mommy because they cant build and are gonna make videos complaining about that too)

I think the reason we'll never get og fortnite, or at least the truest experience/feel of it is because fortnite's community in gameplay has sadly evolved to much. -With a side of being blinded, I am someone who uses the bot lobby method to just avoid sweats in the main BR, and I can admit, when you don't have to spend half your gameplay sweating it can be very fun and nostalgic to relive the OG world! But I think truly when you said "we are blinded by nostalgia" I feel this to be true, even when using bots to avoid sweats and being able to take in the og world. It just doesn't feel the same, and although I appreciate epic for letting us relive this beautiful experience, it will never truly be the same.

I think we must except the fact that it will never hit the same as OG. Did this mode miss some iconic ideas to add? yes, but it also gave us some of the best moments and incorporated great things. 2017-2018 was great but We were younger, life was simple, and the game had just come out. We can't bring that back. SO enjoy what we got and don't take it for granted.

I like OG, but it just feels like a new season, instead of going back to 2017. Why don't they make it COMPLETELY faithful the first time the seasons cycle, then next time they can have modern sprinting and turbo building.

I loved the way at the start we had real human interactions. Not just a bot shooting while walking backwards. That said I’m disappointed in the players. It sucks how lots of people started to sweat and go crazy on the game to win some dumb tournaments they were never even close to being good enough for. I'm reminded every game why i didn't play until Chapter 1 Season 3, my friends (who no longer play all together now) did but i waited and if this is what Fortnite was like back in 2017 then i'm glad i waited. i haven't even been able to get into the top 10 in any of the OG games i've played so far, Solo or squads, almost every gun is too OP and yes i know that what it was like way back when but i can't keep up compared to the current modern fortnite that i'm used too, ( i had one game where i legit landed for all of 2.5 seconds and got one shot by some player with a pump i didn't even see) I'm getting shot from players that i can't even see nore that they should be able to see me from where i am and i want to get the challenges done to complete the OG pass but it's to much of a grind now and that goes for both OG and chapter 6 season 1 BP, by now if this was last chapter i'd be on page 4 or 5 of the BP but im still one page 2 of the current one i just feel like the XP isn't rewarding enough for what i'm doing Last chapter if i went up one level i would've been able to obtain 1 2 or 3 items from the BP now it's one item per level and the grind is just too slow in my opinion, i've levelled up faster playing Rocket racing and Lego by literally just Building lego or racing. As simple as some for the challenges are (mainly for OG) it's the steps you have to take to do some of them that make them so difficult to do, either is players eliminating you before you have a chance to do anything or it's the challenges asking you to find items that are hard to find because of 'what C1 S1 is' or is challenges asking you to damage or eliminate players with weapons that you can barely find at the best of times, like "Hit opponents beyond 50 meters with a sniper rifle 1/3" I'd like to be able to find one and not get eliminated myself first

Epic created monsters called sweats, Epic can't fight sweats, 17 players alive before the first cicle closes, fortnite OG is more like sweats lobby with a simple but good map, Fortnite OG is not OG.

I play about once a week. And still dropping. I'm sorry, but the amount of bias built in against PC players is nuts. The weapon recoil makes it impossible for me to do what I see others do. And often, the game will auto aim for non-PC players SO much that there is nothing I can do. I usually am in the top five or ten in any given match. And I can admit when I'm bested. Typically, by a good builder. But I will be on a streak of about ten, then suddenly from across the board I'll get hit six times in a row while I'm sprinting and jumping through the air. When I rewatch sometimes the crosshairs are feet away. I've actually been hit THROUGH rocks. It is infuriating.
