Epic needs to look at how they added back blings and use that as a reference for new cosmetics. Before back blings came out Some skins Had built in capes or backpacks. Once back blings dropped the old built in ones became a separate cosmetic and owners of the skin got it for free. Additionally back blings came with the skin for no additional cost and all skins were compatible. Epic did something similar when festival tracks came out and kinda did a similar thing. Some lobby tracks turned into festival tracks and owners got them free of charge. Don’t see why this didn’t happen with kicks.

Theres a game called Ninjala on the Switch that does just that! They release limited things, but everything that releases in the shop is there permanatly. They simply have a spotlight on select items. You do have to scroll through almost 2000 items though lol

The priority was artificially inflating the compatibility number, defaults and skins that use same body like Ruby and Britestorm Bomber, Soccer skins where they just need to make a guy and a girl compatible because they're all the same, Chapulin skins too, All those skins that have the leg armor thing, those are basically all the same body with different textures, the issue is they count all those skins as different, so when they say 500 skins are compatible, it's more like 100. Expect compatibility to get added very slowly for actually unique skins seeing that even cheating like that I only have 3 compatible shop skins, one being Ruby.

The Fortnite locker & item shop is the closest manifestation of that one meme that portrayed a game from 2010 as a complete burger with fries & a drink as DLC while recent games are just the beef patty while the bun, sesame seeds, butter, lettuce, tomato, cheese, salt, pepper, fries, frying oil, drink cup, cup ink, cup ice, and beverage are all sold separately and you ultimately pay 8x the price for the same damn thing.

The main problem I think goes with the kicks is for some skins their shoes built into the skin are very complex with the way their modeled, and some are more difficult to remove then others. Like The Machinist from C5S3 battle pass has taller boots and had them completely removed when wearing kicks, but Artemis from the C5S2 battle pass also has taller boots, but her boots aren’t removed and the kicks go right over top of it likely because there’s isn’t actually any leg modeled underneath them

I bought the air force ones but I do agree they are overpriced and done lazily. Every skin I have that has boots is half done for replacing the boots with kicks. Kuno's old shoes stick out of the top, the defaults and default reskins have laces stuck out from the boots. Lady gaga and karol G have 90% of their boots

This is just frustrating, a lot of people are waiting for the Arcane skins with the release and end of season 2 and everyone thought the skins would return because of this, but guess what? The kicks update came first, and because of this the skins haven't returned, Vi (one of the Arcane skins) had kicks compatibility, but Jinx (the other Arcane skin) didn't, and what happened? They took away kicks compatibility from Vi to release her with Jinx with kicks compatibility so this is why they haven't returned, we can only hope they return next season.

9:26 Rarities still exist internally and are hidden from view. Nearly every non-"Series" skin added since the removal, including all 5 ATLA skins, have been Epic rarity. Since Chapter 5 Season 3, we've gotten 2 Outfits coded as "Rare" rarity: Rosette Tigress, and Champion Drake. Both were released during REMIX. The other 2 original skin rarites that aren't Epic - that's Legendary and Uncommon - have gotten nothing. Though, shortly after the change, we did get our first non-default Common skin: Nike Goddess.

The item shop used to be a single page of a few daily rotating (aka extreme fomo) where tons of skins were 2000 vbucks, 1000+ vbucks pickaxes and emotes that went up to 800 etc. It was always bad. That's without even mentioning the *extremely* overpriced lootboxes they used to have in STW.

The problem i noticed with lego mode and it probably now affects this is that its not the mode or cosmetic that limits shops. Ots whatever is picking. I remember around the time ali a mentioned that about his emote. when shops barely change or would rotate in the same small pool despite hundreds of skins having lego counterparts. They had the options they just wouldn’t use them. Even now for example a lot of dbs skins can use shoes, but they haven’t been put in the shop for a while. That’s not a problem with shoes thats a problem with however they pick

A filter system would be great, what I mean by that is: all the “metaverse” content is COMPLETELY separate physically, so it would be easy to make a setting were you could only show a player battle royale content through the means of toggling things in settings, like for example, in my case I like festival and battle royale, so I could turn off creative and rocket racing content so i wouldn’t constantly be shown new things I don’t care about. Epic could use data from these settings to see what players are most interested in, if epic doesn’t do this I would love for them to do something similar to it.

A pair of shoes costs the same as THE BATTLE PASS, it's literally something that only you know you are wearing and I said "know" because you don't see the shoe of your character in 98% of the time and also you enemy will not care about is, because the hardest place to aim is the foot and also is the place that get less damage, the enemy is always aiming for the head, so your enemy don't will see that you spent the money of a battle pass in a shoe

Yup. Being burned out is the reason why I skip some Fortnite chapters just to take a break. I was originally gonna take a break after chapter 5 but when I heard chapter 2 was coming back, I chose to play that since chapter 2 was the first time I played Fortnite years ago and was my favorite chapter.

Unreal Engine 5.5 recently introduced a "mutable" plugin for models, which is used to show or hide certain parts of a model procedurally. In the conference about it, the customizable heist skins (I thought it was called caper or something) was being used with the mutable plugin. The workflow of developing kicks to work for every skin has definitely become easier with this, but I agree, it needed more time to cook. Chapter 6 launch AT LEAST.

I feel like they just doing this so they can start making customized outfit, it just gonna get more crazy, i remember gta v online first started, it was really a street criminal game until they started putting the heists, that when everything went downhill slowly, the bullet proof car and hydra was alr enough but then they started bringing in futuristic vehicle and weapons, hopefully gta 6 would just be like San Andreas and gta 4 but better.

I will say that the Kicks won't cause a severe dent in the item shop as Lego did(don't need to wait for different skins and emotes to be modelled and animated for the game while deprioritizing the weapon wraps and pickaxes). However the bigger pricetags can eat crap for all I care, the sharks are the only purchase because its a funny pair of slippers and I won't be getting the Meow-Soles in comparision. You've also bring up a good point, I might spring for Converses and High Heels, but taking the characters shoes off of them for a more defaultish version, and I'm more then likely going to hate that since Kicks themselves already just overlap on boots. Cars hit the pricepoint of, I won't get them because they cost as much as a elaborate character at the least, and I'm not getting questpacks anymore after a indefinite hiatus for the mode. Rarity border removal genuinely sucks, its a secondary cosmetic essentially, border pops them out among season characters and pickaxe rarities create a pleasant color scheme. I don't like them bundling instruments with characters already as someone who goes through Festival, because it feels like a needless purchase for a guitar/keytars that are already double that of the Drumkits I've only purchased a checkered drumkit because the passes only got one every other season and it was 500 vbucks. Pricepoints I feel for alot of items should be as follows. Kicks should shave the price by 200-400 vbucks(300/400 for originals, 600-700 for base collabs, and 800 for "premium" collabs), Instruments keep them at 500 at the most with drumkits being the exception at 800 for the most, car pricepoints are fineish I can't justify getting them anymore with the main gamemode dropping them and only reskinning 2 vehicles with one being out for the time being.

At first they sold the battlepass for 950 v bucks, you can get a total of 1500 from the bp alone but now you have to buy it for 1k and only get 1k in return, the excess have to be gotten from the bonus rewards and its only 400!!! Dont even get me started on the other passes with the price of 1500
