Simple Lanard - some peeps don't give a monkey's butt bout anyone who is not them. Seeing as the land is an abandoned cemetery - you can't build on it, nor could it be sold. Keeping it maintained by the person who owns it costs them money or time they can't or won't expend. So they just leave it... Not a mindset I get or condone in any way, shape or form. What I'm curious about is the apparent lack of action towards the land owners by local government.

Check with the public Library. And in the computer there you can see the history of the cemetery. The Librarian there can help you find out what department the cemetery falls under. Great job!!

When I went to visit my late grandmothers grave i noticed her vase was broken, I went back to the office and told them the next time I come to visit it better be replaced! And my aunt called me to tell me her vase was just fine no issues! We have to advocate for what we believe in I always told my kids( now adults) that doing what's right doesn't always equal doing what's easy! God has a plan and He makes no mistakes! 🥰

Someone, either someone from the family or the City, has cared enough to visit the graves fairly recently and placed flowers in each of the tombstone vases. I do not recall seeing flowers in those vases the first time you cut the grass and cleaned up the area. The flowers are a nice touch but too bad they did not follow through and keep the grass and weeds cut too.
