Tech, by it's very nature, is quarter to quarter. The price gets way ahead of itself, both ways, all the time. However, when margin is at stake, they immediately try to fix it. I think all we have seen is the first reaction to margin problems in 2022, and that was a cost/inflation move. Next up, and still to show impact, is the revenue side. I was around for both 2000, 2008, in tech. Working in Silicon Valley for 30 years, I remember seeing a guy at a stop light with a sandwich board on his back advertising himself for an engineering job...That is where this can go...

I think have to move away from talking about market PE and market multiples. The top tech stocks that make up almost 40% of S&P 500 trade at probably 25x PE. So what matters is if these stocks are going to break or not. Case closed. On the economy, the personal saving rate is about half of pre-pandemic levels. Call it keeping up with inflation, revenge spending, excess saving. If the saving rate normalizes to 8%, which usually happens as the durable good spending ebbs for cars, appliances, boats, home related, then economy will slow down significantly. People believing experiential and leisure spending will go on forever will have a very rude awakening.

Great show. Great to hear Mike's thoughts. Sometimes Etrade mentions his work. Always good. Regarding earnings compression, I suspect consumer credit is drying up as people have maxed out their cards and the end consumer is now down to staples. For some reason, I am still bullish on oil, especially as the summer driving season nears.

Strawberry in his prime was the best line drive hitter I ever saw play. Every game I saw he would hit at least two balls off the backfield wall and it would sound like a cannon going off. I could see him not hitting fifty home runs eating him and feeding into making his problems worse, and Cecil Fielder hitting fifty and destroying him. Wish Mattingly didn't have his physical issues. Think it is the same thing that gets a lot of athletes that are greats.
