Yes indeed. Contrary to what some haters out there let on, Ritchie presented some really nice chops and most of the time the band and him were smoking. Sure enough, some songs didn't quite make the grade (Spotlight Kid - Ritchie rusty; Perfect Strangers - a little lacklustre, Romero a little flat; Burn - started really well and Ritchie kicked ass but then halfway thru I think his fingers got tired and sticky - might be the reason why there were no encores) but then again the absolute highlights were mind-blowing. Slower tempo and all that jazz, who cares? You don't need to speed to make an impression. It's what you say, not how fast you're yapping.

Interesting opinion you have. I would rather replace vocalist and drummmer. Ritchie is doing well for his condition. 7:26 is smooth and tasty improvisation. My favorite guitar player EVER. The mix sucked during the entire concert until Burn. The drums, bass, and keys were buried and the show lacked energy until the END. Burn was almost great. Ritchie is old and it shows a bit in his playing, but for those of us were kids when Deep Purple was at its peak it's great to see him out playing. At his age, I'm surprised he played that long a show. Go, Ritchie. You influenced an entire generation of guitar players. The singer is pretty good, but there's a reason Ronnie James Dio is considered by most as the best heavy metal singer of all time. Folks take this for what it is and be happy to see Ritchie out playing. I used to play with Eddie Money, and I had a chance to meet him a few years ago, but due to his reputation for being difficult and standoffish, I passed. I didn't want him being on a pedestal for me to be ruined. I told Eddie once after a show that what he is now selling is memories. So, just enjoy watching him play the songs you grew up with and be thankful he's still out playing and remember how you felt the first time you heard the amazing songs he composed and the solos that blew away most of the other guitars of his time. Long live rock and roll, Ritchie.

I read and saw some videos and everyone seems to agree that he upped his game for the Munich concert. I think if he went througha regime to get back his mojo, he'd still have it, but since he plays 5 Rainbow shows a year, maybe he doesn't care much?

Jimmy Page tarnished his reputation by going sky high on heroin on stage. Whole he was never a super clean player much of his reputation stems from these incidents where he couldn't find a single note. This is not bad in and of itself. Problem is we remember when Ritchie was a raving ball of fire onstage. A streaming comet blazing across the sky. Literally setting the stage on fire. He does have some arthritis setting in and he has had some finger problems in the past, if I'm not mistaken. A lot of the older players mentioned here have never stopped playing the electric guitar so they haven't lost much of that strength and dexterity in their hands over the years. saw purple twice last 2 years....gillan sounded great.if your trying to compare him to jesus christ superstar or when he shattered glass, not even close...but he sings in a lower key...no cracking or straining at all.

I saw them September 2018 and yes they were fantastic, which is an achievement considering they followed Judas Priest and were not upstaged in any way by the incredible Priest light-show and aural onslaught. DP has it in spades over this version of "Rainbow." But glad to see RB seemingly doing the best he can and keeping active.

Blind Gillan fanboys can claim any bullshit they want but last time Gillan sounded great was in 1970’s Last three decades he has been pretty good at his best and horrible at his worst which is often. And when Gillan had his usual offnight the fanboys are quickly to use their fave excuse ’’Gillan had cold’’ Looks like Gillan has had chronic cold since early 80's

Ritchie Guitar God Blackmore

How good Ritchie is, even at 73!!! For me, despite the different world ratings, Ritchie Blackmore's guitarist is No. 1! After all, no one has ever counted or taken into account how many musicians he discovered or how many stars grew up with him! And I mean all areas of activity, these are soloists, bass guitarists, keyboardists! The latest example of this is the magnificent soloist Ronnie Romero! It is clear that Ritchie missed rock, he still lights up, there is a lot of improvisation and changes in his game and they are all successful, interesting, great! I was very pleased with the acoustic guitar playing in the song Soldier of Fortune! Bravo maestro, I really want to continue listening and seeing you!

Thanks for uploading this. I'm a big Blackmore fan, but he seems really like he has no desire to be there. Also about half the time it sounds like the volume control on his guitar isn't on very much and the front of house mixer is trying to compensate.

Hmmm...lot of negative comments here (but I notice in the extreme minority). Ritchie Blackmore as always is amazing & kudios to Ronnie Romero and the rest of the crew. This IS Rainbow....honestly for the critics, I would challenge any of them to go up on stage and do better, guaranteed doubtful...
