Our current civilization will be long dead and none of the music will survive bc they will have to start over from Stone Age. Sure shortly after thermos nuclear wars; the survivals make use of some remaining technology but after a hundred years or so they will be exhausted and the descendants only hear about flying carpets that transported people to far away places while sitting comfortably and believing they are tall tales and myths. But eventually after a thousand years or so they will rediscover electricity and the harps that sound like many Roaring waters and peals of thunder singing a new song (hard rock/ metal) (Rev. 14). And Rock will be back and our Gods of Rock will be reincarnated once again. It’s a cycle of civilizations. It has happened many times already

I missed that one but I saw them the year before, they still did Stargazer in 76, it was an incredible show, imho the best line-up Ritchie ever played with. My friend was at the 77 show too, the band came on stage sometime after midnight because Ritchie had some trouble with Austrian customs after a show in Vienna and they wouldn't let him enter Germany first. By the time Rainbow hit the stage, most of the audience had already gone home! The concert was over maybe at 3 or 4 a.m. Then my friend had to drive home for about one hour, he probably hadn't slept at all, the next day he had some exam at school. He really was a Ritchie fan! In 76 he had grabbed Ritchie's smashed guitar at the Circus Krone concert, lucky one! He already crossed the rainbow bridge 18 years ago but I remember him everytime when I think of these Rainbow concerts.

1978 we had Cheap Trick, warming up for Pat Travers, warming up for Rainbow. It was the Saint Paul Civic Center and it was Richie Blackmores birthday. 8 bucks a ticket, I was 14, and I will never forget this show. Blackmore started the show with Somewhere over the Rainbow and his guitar was lifted into the air, like what Ace Freeley did with Kiss.

Certainly the best concert I have ever seen! Richie BLACKMORE is a magician. The chemistry with Ronnie James DIO is total; leaving room for improvisation. Cosy POWELL, David STONE and Bob DAISLEY are also excellent. A sign that does not deceive: Lemmy KILLMINSTER (MOTÖRHEAD bass and great admirer of the BEATLES) had this album on his leaving room wall…See also the other concert-album « on stage » (1977) with Jimmy BAIN on bass and Tony CAREY on keybord… THANK YOU VELBLOUD !

David stone masterful keyboard... and blackmore... playing vs strong energy classic stuff mixed vs metal, heavy rock... awesome stuff, an great line up

One late night some twenty years ago, I was zapping through the TV channels and get hooked on "WDR Rockpalast" where this concert was played. I could catch part of it on video tape, but was so amazed by what I saw that I hunted down a DVD of the concert. Remember, the Internet was young and stuff was hard to find. As a kid of the late 80s and 90s, I was quite unaware that music like this existed. That night was an eye-opener (or rather ear-opener) to Hard Rock, Metal, Prog and much more. Even more, I fell in love with the sound of the Hammond organ (masterfully played by David Stone here), got myself an M-100 plus a Leslie Speaker and started to practise! But to this day, I never understood the part with the destruction of the guitar 😞
