Ritchie just plays with so much feel, tells a story always when soloing and his tone and vibrato are incredible!

I'm listening to this with headphones gives a better idea ..Ritchie is still the real deal ..of course he is older and more controlled. .Romero is out of this world . Remember this is Ritchie giving his fans a last goodbye with a fantastic front man . we would all love Ritchie to get a crazy ass drummer and bass player and record new material and go at it like a demon one more time. This is Ritchie giving us his fans a last good bye. He will always be the greatest by a country mile and my childhood hero. Thank u Ritchie .

Currently there are hundreds of shredders playing the same exercises and poeple use to say, "Ah great, they are fantastic". Ritchie developes melodies while playing. He's unique. Nobody else can do this as he does. Still.

After being disappointed with the performances from last year I was not expecting too much, but this is pretty good. Blackmore is playing some nice stuff, he'll never be the guitarist he was 20 or 30 years ago, but it's still great to hear him. The singer is excellent, as he was last year. Bass player seems more animated and good keyboard player. My main gripe is with the drummer. I can't put my finger on it, but he seems very flat and his style doesn't seem to fit with the music. Anyway enjoyable clip. Thanks to the person who kindly filmed it and posted it. I'll definitely be watching some more now.

Excellent, thank you! This is one of the best Rainbow line-ups.
@GreenerHill7 жыл бұрын
Dino: You could say that about every line-up post-Cozy Powell. I know this unit hasn't recorded new music yet, but the way they work together is inspiring - pure Rainbow, if you like. If Blackmore had hired people to impersonate Cozy, Jimmy Bain, Don Airey, etc., it would've sounded too forced and contrived. Purple and Rainbow have always played with a certain swing - not metal bashing at all - and this lot have that funkiness and space. And Ronnie Romero may have a Dio influence, but he's not a direct copy. Since you ask, it's my 56th birthday on Sunday. :)
@MeTuLHeD6 жыл бұрын
Ummm...no. As someone who saw Rainbow at the pinnacle of their career, I strongly disagree. Don't get me wrong. Ronnie Romero is killin' it here. Great singer. The other players are very solid. But Ritchie? Just going through the motions. Yeah, I know. He was never one for running all over the stage and mugging it up for the camera. But here he just seems half hearted and lost. And he flubs the ending of a song he's played...what...a minimum of a hundred times!?!? Geez! Sorry, but he should stick to his Celtic/folk pursuits and leave hard rock/metal to players who care.

I was there. The gig was not helped by a broken snare microphone for five songs or the microphone in front of Richie's amps continually falling over. The screens either side above the stage were not in operation therefore it was impossible for a lot of the audience to see what was happening on stage. The visuals on the screen need work, a lot of work. Visual loops ground to a halt, a giant single candle flame, right tune but out of cinc original video cameos by Dio and Powell and paint spattering was a feature, various album covers were cheerfully ruined,The forest/sky loop worked the best... I don't think the drummer has listened to the songs properly or there is a problem between him and the bass player, it's hard to define, there are percussive accents missing all over the place. Both musicians can clearly play but something sounds wrong. A joy it was to hear Richie and see him in the distance..I am a massive fan, first Rainbow gig in 1980, Ronnie is a fine singer and the keyboard player is on it. Weird lineup. But it was Richie Blackmore and he was a little subdued but deeply wonderful.

The management have a lot to answer for then......
@kissarmy3053 жыл бұрын
Ritchie rushed it, everytime he goes on tour with this line-up they play 4 to 5 shows max and the band only rehearse 1 maybe 2 weeks max prior to every tour. They just don't get enough time to become a solid band. A band, especially with members that are new to each other need the time to get used to each other, or else you'll get a show that looks and sounds like a jam session at your local bar.
@robertandrewhale3 жыл бұрын
@@kissarmy305 Hey dude… Good point, but then you have to wonder why that is the case, If I had been production manager for that show I would have changed career immediately after it wrapped, yes Ronnie is an outrageous singer and the Keyboard player was clearly the man for the job but the rhythm section was a mess, the bass player was hobbled by what was going on with the drums. Fully admit to being a massive Cozy Powell fan but Bobby Rondinelli handled it, it’s not impossible to do, just takes one hell of a drummer….Stylistically speaking I don’t think any amount of rehearsal would have improved that situation with that guys introverted minimalist playing. Now it’s quite a while since that gig and I am left with the distinct impression that this was a way of raising a lot of money. Sure it’s a business but a Rainbow gig from the tours I went to was right out there in terms of sheer ability and musicianship, this gig seemed to be the result of as you say poor preparation but also poor advice. Or none perhaps. The tribute to Jon Lord was the standout song, Ritchie sounded much more comfortable and himself on the acoustic guitar. 🌞

Truth is he doesn't give a rats ass about rockn'roll anymore or he would have put a more serious lineup. His wife found the singer and he went along with whoever was around to please her and earn some extra cash as he honestly admitted.
@Alex-vi2wl7 жыл бұрын
If you mean his rock fans, yes. Though he takes his rennaissance music much more seriously. You got to admit that rockn'roll can be musically limiting for a genius composer like him. I totally understand why he had to move on.

Singer very good, Ritchie on decent form, keyboards obviously a top notch rock keys guy but honestly where did they pick up that weak ass rhythm section? The drummer speeds up, the bass players sound isn’t hefty enough, the legacy of Cozy Powell, Ian Paige, Roger Glover deserves much better and there’s no excuse, so many good session players out there.
