@Mr Nath, which is the best app to track monthly expenses which you suggested in one of your podcast
@shankarnath
@shankarnath 2 күн бұрын
Hello, I'm not sure if I said "monthly expenses" tracking as I don't use any app for that. If you're refering to tracking of "investments" then try I'm currently using Tickertape or IND Money (as it automates everything) and for more finer MF related tracking/analysis, I use valueresearchonline.com

@@GokulP-f2u Incred Money is like any ecommerce app .. so like an Amazon -- but for unlisted shares. You buy unlisted shares (so give it the money), Incred Money buys shares from a seller and deposits it into your demat account. Just signup to Incred Money, the buying process is like how you buy anything online -- takes 5 mins. But remember, the shares will not come to demat immediately -- it can take anywhere from 3 days to 21 days. Incred Money will give you an ETA Please signup and check -- there are no charges for signing up

Hello shankar sir I am currently 18 yrs old and I find your videos extremely helpful even though I am a complete amateur. I have recently started making some money from side hustle and free lancing. Most of that is reinvested into buying courses and other day to day expenses since I am still a student. I have recently started reading about investing and investors like buffet, munger and people like naval ravikant.. With my half baked adolescent brain and a world full of options I am quite confused since I don’t have a roadmap or a path for learning about the market. Can you provide me with a list of books that one should read so that he can build a strong mindset and learning framework towards stock market, long term investing and understanding valuation for companies. Or maybe you can also start a series where you explain the basics of investing to newbies like me. Lots of love and well wishes to you for your future endeavours ❤❤

Well done to starting a side hustle, this will help you in many ways beyond income 👏 . You don't need any course or read books -- do this: 1. Watch basic videos on investing from channels like Swedish Investor 2. Learn sector by sector. E.g. IT Services sector. For this, read the annual report (esp. management discussion & analysis section) and earnings call transcript of 2 companies in that sector - one big & one mid-sized. e.g. Infosys & Persistent 3. Use chatgpt for any doubts you have. Don't email or write to me, chatgpt will explain better. Always ask it for an example in simple words 4. Once you are ready for advanced knowledge - subscribe to SOIC, Shankar Nath and Sahil Bhadviya youtube channels 5. Subscribe to free research report channels on telegram 6. Read my newsletter too 7. Browse through valuepickr from time to time --- This will get you 90% there

All the best young man! Start reading the zerodha modules, specially the first 2 or 3. Don't get into trading at any cost. That will be a good foundation for you. All the Best.

Just read following books it will help you as specially for Investment. You can also follow the expert advice (Mr. Nath provided in comment). 1. Lets Talk Money 2) Lets Talk Mutual Fund and 3) A Boring way to get reach. You can use online websites like Value Research. Best of Luck. Just want to add 1 more book Rich Dad Poor Dad (must read).

Can anybody please clarify my doubt! I've seen a few shares which got listed in the markets below the price listed in incred money.(Eg: Swiggy, waree energies)
@shankarnath
@shankarnath 2 күн бұрын
Yes, that can happen at times for many reasons. A simple reason is the company raising funds just before the IPO from private investors to support growth and issuing them shares. This dilutes the stake of existing shareholders and brings down the share price. But ofcourse, this can happen in listed companies too and many companies have now been issuing preferential allotments.
@rohithathiraj7724
@rohithathiraj7724 2 күн бұрын
@shankarnath then what was the point of investing in swiggy and waree energies pre IPO?
@shankarnath
@shankarnath Күн бұрын
@@rohithathiraj7724 Timing is important when investing in pre-IPO shares -- just like it is in listed shares. Buying pre-IPO shares when near the IPO date is the worst of times given the euphoria around the IPO. Infact, the point you raised is when evaluating the price of Swiggy shares just a week before the IPO (it was 490 rupees) versus the IPO price (upper band was 390 rupees). However the price of the same Swiggy share in June 2023 was 300. My point -- you'll barely make money when you invest in times of greed and the period just before the IPO is one bad moment

This will probably the most exciting time for startups, interest rates will be down , corporate taxes might go down, freeing up more capital to risky bets. With most cost optimisations over at digital cos its only going to be boom period for startups next year.
