People need to get over the fact that this isn’t a “5 star” resort. This is a budget all inclusive that never claims to be “5 star”. People just assume EVERYTHING is 5 star regardless of price.

Except for the fact some vacation websites list it as a 5*. So in fact it’s not wrong to think they are claiming so.

@@bige2012 guess people need to dig deeper into their research before booking. Anybody that does any research at all knows what RIU is all about and that they don’t even offer anything more than 4 star resorts.

On RIU official app it is listed as a 5 star resort. I know this because we just booked this resort for august

Hi, the video was recorded very early in the morning when most guests were still sleeping, it had a great atmosphere when we were there plenty of guests and plenty of fun 👍😁

We spent two weeks there and will never go back there… or any other RIU resort. Beautiful place, great friendly hard working staff, but food and restaurants are way below part. This is a 3 star at best.

Hi, yes it is a beautiful place and like you say the staff are fantastic, unlike you though we enjoyed the food that was on offer, this was our 4th RIU and to he honest we always look for them first depending where we are going, to be fair they were Palaces though so that probably made a difference in our choice. 👍

@@touristsontour next time, try others like Excellence, TRS, Couples or Dreams, to name a few. All much better resorts and truly 5 stars.

Haven't been to this RIU yet but the RIU in Cabo had excellent food when I was there two years go.

Hi there, How for is this property from the Cancun airport? Do you know if they have Suttle for pick up and drop off from and to the airport. If they don't, what's the best way to get there. Thank you.

Hi it took us about 45 minutes but that can differ with traffic, we went via an operator with transfers included, dont think the hotel does transfers as a few people were asking, most that we spoke to were booking a taxi 👍

What's the dress code for men for dinner, we're going there next month?

Hi, to be honest when we were there it was quite relaxed, most men for dinner in the main restaurant wore casual shorts and shortsleeved shirts, so I would say smart casual, the themed restaurants a little smarter and more long trousers but we never saw anyone turned away! Hope you have a fantastic time, we loved it!!!

How far was it from the town to shop?

Hi, we never went into town as it was too far to walk, quite a few people took a taxi but its a good 40 minutes 👍

Hi It’s approximately an hour, a lot does depends on the traffic, when we were going due to road works it took us nearly 2 hours ( we did have drop offs also) but going to the airport (no drop offs) it was just under an hour. Thanks, we hope you have a great time!!!

Hi, the theme nights when we were there were very good, we are fans of the white night and we would highly recommend the silent disco if they still do it, we had a great time and found it hilarious 👍😂

Hi People were smoking most places ( don’t recall seeing in the restaurants) and even since the new regulations the only difference is they have stopped putting ashtrays on the balconies. No issues as of yet on the beach either.

Looking for maybe advice. I just got back from Cancun yesterday after staying solo at the Riu Peninsula. I found that people didn't seem to be into starting up a conversation at all or wanting to talk. Sorta a leave-me-alone environment, I thought. Any thoughts?
