Not cracked but balancend. It's easy to make a heavyweight in a fighting game overpowered and even easier to make them underpowered. But balancing them to perfectly fit is very hard as hell, and the Rivals team has mastered the art of a completely balanced roster.

i think it's doubly hard in a plat fighter with di/recovery/custom combos. but rivals always did it well. krag is probably one of the best designs for a heavy in any plat fighter, arguably even just the best design for any arctype in a plat fighter.@@unskilledgamer3642

I mean, in terms of size, strength, and weight, elephants are kind of literally the biggest guys on land. I'm not surprised Loxodont doesn't need too many fancy tools to be a beast to have to deal with. If Aether Studios is setting Lox up to be the villain of the Rivals series, I'd say they picked a pretty powerful looking foe to lock in as the main antagonist.

The Zeno Clash games tend to have some pachydermal opponents as well. The third game, Artifacts of Chaos, even has a recurring prehistoric pachyderm based on a Platybelodon who is the largest normal opponent you can find. It's a cool series.

Loxodont existed a long time in the Aether universe. He was already seen in the little "story mode" of Rivals 1, long before Clairen was a thing. When Clairen hit the stage, she got an entire backstory with Lox which turned into comics and stuff.

Clairen was obvious if you'd followed Aether content for a while (an early WIP 3D model of her was actually used as a teaser for Rivals 2, and of course the comic leads directly into the story of this game), but I didn't expect Loxodont to be playable, considering how huge he is in the comic. I thought he'd be a boss character. That nigh-invincible robot body of his must've just increased his size from his original form, which in hindsight makes plenty of sense.

Now that I think about it, there hasn't actually been a lava character in the fire elements. We already have Flame, smoke, plasma, and explosions(Magnesiums, gunpowder, etc.) I totally forgot that lava can still be considered fire despite mostly being represented as an earth element.

hey guys i'm gonna explain what i assume loxodont's moveset is from the trailer because i'm bored. none of this is certain it's just what i'm pretty sure the moveset is from watching the trailer special mechanic - whenever you use a special, it spawns lava on the floor. this lava takes a couple of seconds to activate, and after it activates it stays there until you touch it (assumedly it also does something if the enemy touches it but that isn't shown in the trailer). after you touch the lava, it disappears and you gain 1 of what i'm going to call lava charges. these lava charges seem to enhance your strongs by making them multihitting (the charges disappear after using a strong) and your down special, and you can have up to 3 of them. neutral special - a ball of lava that flies out in an arc and falls to the ground. you can charge it to enhance the height and distance of the arc, as well as making it spawn more lava. side special - a lunging grab that can be used in the air or on the ground. it spawns lava along the ground as you move, and if it connects the opponent is thrown down. up special - generic up special, goes up and then down while dealing damage along the way. down special - makes an explosion that gets bigger and launches you farther the more lava charges you have, and gets rid of your current lava charges. idk what it does with no charges, maybe it gives you a charge. jfosnrbtosichbebrbtisisdkkebrnalskvifheneod9x7cuhenenskdhcyjejsnddiu3y2jdjdux9sjsheidhdhdgy2jeiehdhj4jueyd
