No way. I got so hyped when i heard "Hail of Blades". I created a Shen rune page i tried only a few times with hail of blades and approach velocity in secondary tree for those juicy empowered Q trades without using E to get in. Worked really well but grasp is more consistent. And now there he is, my idol, xPetu, going hail of blades. A dream come true

Haha I've been trying to make Shen work in the midlane, as I love the champ but dont like the toplane. In ranged matchups HoB is definitely good, spellbook, Phase rush and Aftershock work fine too. I always go Divine since I'm a midlaner and need damage. The rest of the build is still new and I haven't tested it enough but I got so excited when I saw Ross upload the video. Oh btw Shen mid is viable because in midlane you naturally have more space to roam, so you can use ult more freely without losing towers and such. It's a counter against things like the Yasuo, Yone, Irelia, and most ad assassin's, but you want to avoid mages. They are a nightmare. Permaban cassio as that matchup is straight unplayable

On 11 matches, I won like 9 of them. Anyways, I'm on a prety lame elo (silver 1) so maybe that's why it aint so bad xD Don't know what else the playstyle needs :C

Schrödingers Stand United dictates that players can never know if Shen would have been able to ult them until they get into a life or death situation and the shield either appears or does not appear.

i tried this build and it goes well but as a true shen player like petu once said its not about you its about your teammates so for me. The best build for shen is tankyness if youre tanky you can even land 2 or 3 taunt in a one clash that's super awesome

Petu, I know this build is just silly fun shen honk damage but I think there is a legitimately busted shen build with Warmog first item. Warmogs is 100% gold efficient without even factoring in the passive, and if you build your mythic (frostfire preferably for mythic passive) and then Gargoyles stoneplate you have really high bhp (1550) and really high resistances (+85). Then, if you build titanic hydra you have 2150 bhp which equals a shield that big from Gargoyles and + 43 ad which is insanely gold efficient. Then you can just build thornmail or whatever, Abyssal into higher ap comps. I will keep spreading this shen build until it catches on, it just feels super strong.

warm first is really cool , kinda matchup dependent because you will lose on wave clear and damage overall, like its really a waste to get it vs a kayle where you can just bonk her , but i get it vs like a camile where you can take an equal trade but its actually a winning trade cuz u heal up

@@alaaentabi7879 you do lose out on damage, but shen base damage is pretty high with his q, and all the hp improves your all-in survivability disregarding the passive. You get so much value out of hp early as shen. Having the passive ticking is great, but honestly just having giga hp as fast as possible feels pretty wacky.

I've been liking sunderer, armour boots, abyssal mask, banshee's veil/hourglass (swap if team is heavy AD or AP) as I don't find all the extra attack speed very useful. I go teleport instead of ignite and basically perma-roam to cause trouble in the other lanes and for enemy jungler. I figure it doesn't really matter if Shen wins lane, since his kit is so utility-based and he's not really going to snowball. Doesn't matter if I'm 5/0 or 0/5, I can always shut down a teamfight with my kit's utility.

Petu acknowledge me :D PTA is a far better rune on shen for burst, ESPECIALLY when going for the empowered 6q bonk. Also, ap scaling on q is not so good, you will benefit more from the current health damage of botrk. Divine Sunderer gives both mpen and apen, your flat q damage does very well no matter what with this passive and yes, nashors tooth does benefit from it, but you are then kind of wasting the second stat. Also, building botrk on top of divine sunderer gives you 2 sources of sustain, partially eliminating the need for grasp and ravenous hunter, opening room for ultimate hunter. Nobody likes building ad on shen; because there is no apparent scaling in his kit. Other than, ofc, a 50% attack speed bonus for not playing like a chimp. 🌚
