I'm testing camera/mic location to achieve the best acoustics. The camera is about 6 feet away, at the side of the piano and centered. The microphone is a bit closer to the piano in this video than in the "close-up" video of this same piece where the camera is placed at the front corner of the piano and about 8 feet away. It seems that the closer the microphone is, the better the sound (clarity, purity). Comments on the acoustics are invited (please view the other video I made of this piece). I picked this piece to test for acoustics because it has a clear melody line that lends itself well to demonstrate how clear this Baldwin piano is. The piano was tuned and voiced by an expert piano technician only 2 days before this recording. Unfortunately, the quality of my camera/mic doesn't do justice to the quality of sound that this piano can produce. After Colin Meckelburg (RPT) worked on this piano for 3 hours, I couldn't believe the degree of refinement that I could achieve (extreme pianissimo), and the action so well regulated after Colin worked on my piano. I highly recommend Colin from www.iTune4u.ca . Although this is an American-built Baldwin, the piano has an almost European quality of sound.
