@@connor5184 well what helped me is to learn the song that I like the most, no matter how difficult it is. Not to just learn a song that is easy because I am a beginner. And not just practice to get better, to become this great gitarist. Then it would become work and I would be playing with the mind. The trick is to actually play. Not to get somewhere, but because you love it, in the moment. When I gave up this goal of becoming this great gitarist and when I gave up my ideas of how to achieve that, when there was no purpose in it left, I started to just enjoy it, to really play. So enjoy, play. Learn the song that excites you the most. And when you feel like you don't enjoy it anymore after some playing, put it down. And trust yourself to pick it up again.

Another thing you guys can do is place your middle finger on the 6th string, then use your ring finger to slide if that makes it easier than using your thumb. Personally I can do the pinky slide, but the middle finger and ring finger slide feels just as comfortable unlike the thumb tip, just feels odd for me haha.

@Gutslinger It’s most likely that the guitar isn’t tuned or maybe if it’s not a real wood guitar and if it’s one of those clear strings guitars you should buy a new one, you could find great ones at a budget of $200

I started playing guitar about a month ago and even though this song seems pretty hard to learn I decided to give it a try, so notes for self: June 27 - learned up to 5:16 July 5 - learned up to 6:19 July 6 - learned up to 7:11 I was on a trip so there was no updates for a couple of weeks (July 11 to July 22), but now I'm back to learning!! July 25 - learned up to 8:28 July 27 - learned up to 10:30 (it's not perfect so for the next few days I will practice what I have already learned) August 5 - learned up to 10:30 almost perfectly August 12 - learned up to 15:02 August 29 - learned up to 18:24 August 30 - learned up to 19:57 its been a year, its currently August 27, 2023 and tbh i totally forgot about this. but i found it again so i decided to give it another try. this time ill update after i learn the whole song 28/06/2024 how funny, almost two years later i saw this in my "watch later" playlist. i quit guitar but as i saw this all the memories came back. i gave up since even after a lot of practice i still wasnt good enough so i lost motivation. hopefully this will be third time lucky. i am trying again, one last time
