The scenery might suck, but if the fish are biting that's where I want to be! As long as you can get passed the fact there's gonna be trash everywhere, it is gonna smell like roadkill, and you hear sirens, random yelling, and possibly death threats, there are fish to be caught. Sometimes those fish are big!

Day time fishing downtown should be safe Spencer. Be careful down there at night though. I've been down there at night with my son and I had to leave because someone was shooting a gun under the Scott Street bridge.

Why is it some of the best fishing is in the bad parts of town here in fort Wayne Indiana the beginning of the Maumee rivver starts at hosey dam on Anthony street right smack in the hood

6:17 Thats funny because i always fish the smallest lure possible for the job. My theory is you can still catch big fish on small lures (and i often do) but you rarely can catch medium or smaller sized fish on large lures. I caught my PB smallmouth on a micro crawfish lure and just a week ago i caught my pb channel cat (21lbs) on a bass rod with half a small night crawler. And plus it makes fishing a lot more fun when you’re on lighter tackle.

Holy crap..what a "gewd" flathead lol. I grew up down there fishing on the bridges. Not sure if they even fish on those anymore since they redid them. I know they do Scott st but not sure on the rest. Cool video man

I have t caught a lot of flatheads, that one was awesome. That didn’t look like a real high percentage place for flatheads, I didn’t see any trees in the water or anything to hang up in. For your plastic swimbait lures have you tried fly fishing hooks with the really long shank and short gap e.g. Aberdeen hook ? Your hook up rate and fish retention time will increase I guarantee it

River Certified I looked at 6:25 where your jig head hook is very short compared to the length of your swimbait - the closer to the tail your hook barb is, the greater chance the fish’s mouth will snag. choose the size that fits most appropriate to the swimbait you want to use.

Place isn’t sketchy at all, lol been fishing there since I was big enough to walk never had a problem, and that bucket gets left there all year it’s a community rod holder, your supposed to use the holes in the bucket for your rod not lean it up against it lol
