River Ribble 'Weir' at Red Scar Wood.

The Concrete three channel weir was built in the early 70's and remained until 2020. Reasons cited for its destruction and removal range from 'danger hazard' to 'allow fish to travel upstream.' Well, snigs and fry had no problem swimming upstream so the real reason elludes me.

Never knew that was there, definitely have to try and take one of the small boats up there. Great video and thanks for sharing 🤩

Sad thing is a few years back they demolished and removed the weir. What was once a summertime swimming destination for many locals is now gone.
