I'm planning on bring my quad for a spin up there soon, but this video has me wanting to build a minitalon again

It’s a great location for it! I only live down the road from here too 😃 I’ve flown this route (not quite as aggressively) on DJI too and it’s still a lot of fun. Didn’t go there this year, barely did any flying thanks to the weather 😵‍💫

Hey, there's not really much I changed from the original setup other that I swapped out the MFDAP for a Matek 405 with iNav and I changed the canopy camera setup. For the canopy I printed this part: www.itsqv.com/QVM/index.php?title=File:52071sm.JPG I installed a runcam Phoenix 2 FPV cam in the nose and for HD recording I'm running a Runcam2. I made it with the cheaper FC and cheaper HD cam so that I could use it for high risk flights like this one. Didn't want to risk losing my DJI Osmo Action etc. Thats all the changes since the original build, let me know if you think I'm missing something. This flight ended up with the Mini Talon taking on heavy damage so I'll be retiring it now, I have a Talon Pro I will transplant the electronics over to. Cheers

Thanks Nick, there's definitely a more 'real' feeling to a video when stabilisation isn't used. Plus using stabilisation crops the image and you end up with a video that makes you look like you weren't flying very low when you were in fact skimming the grass 😅 Next year I'm going to try the same run with something more stable. Oh my god, that was absolutely fantastic mate. I was actually moving my head about as if I was in the plane. The two trees and the bridge had my heart going and I wasn't even flying it. I'm 51 and started this hobby about 5 years ago, can't you just pop over to The New Forest one day and give me a crash course Adam and let me download everything you know 😆 I'm flying the Dart XLe on FPV and slowly building up to some low level runs here, maybe one day I'll grow up to be as good as you Adam.... spot on mate👍

I did this because I was full convinced I'd crash this and it may end up in a river at some point... Next year I hope to fly this route again with a more stable plane, the MT is always wobbly. Thanks Peter 😃 Yeah I knew there were power cables there so my plan was to dip down pretty quickly after passing over the trees. On the YT upload it's pretty much impossible to see but I also pass under power cables around the 5:12 mark. A few seconds before you can see one of the posts over to the right in the fields. Cheers

Yeah practice of flying FPV over the years has lead to this. Lucky for me this run was only attempted 3 times in total (on different days) and it was a little better each time. I'm sure I'll do this route again next year with a different more stable plane. Cheers

Hi, glad you enjoyed it :) I don't have any videos on mixing 1.3 and 2.4 as it's a setup i steer clear of. I tried it once back in my early days of FPV and it wasn't very successful. I had issues before I even made it 300m from home. I'd recommend avoiding this config if you can

Hey, yes the Ratel 2 is pretty much the best analogue camera you can buy at the moment in my opinion. Split cameras are very hit and miss :/

@@AdamGdoesFPV so I tested it on a quad with these weird V shaped antennas on the reciever and transmitter and I also had a gps and elrs on 2.4ghz on there without a filter on the vtx but elrs seems to still do fine. I'm kind of confused by the performance tho, in some directions it has great penetration an in others it cant even go 60m LOS without losing video or really bad video, do you think this is because of these weird antennas or because of interference or maybe the vrx antenne has to be pointed to the quad in some way?
