I’ve met Spencer, start talking catfish around him and he never stops 😂 not that thats a bad thing. Met him at catcon several years ago and it was nonstop channels and flathead talk for like 20 minutes. Certainly glad I got to meet the guy, he’s good people.

Yeah bad as I hate to admit it, but I used to be a big paylake fisherman, and I’ve caught flatheads from said paylakes that would have 2,3,4 hooks in them and not counting mine but that’s just because you’ve got people fishing them that are fairly new to fishing or just don’t know how to operate a drag, and they think they do. I give those paylakes up probably 25-close to 30 years ago, when I really started paying more attention and seeing how they really are, you know? But I have caught real nice flatheads mainly from paylakes, some guys were better at catching blues and some better at flatheads and I was in that latter part. But when my Uncle and myself started fishing the Great Miami river and catching nice flatheads, that’s really about the time we both gave up paylakes.
