Skip tooks your chair, I mean, Woody’s chair lol. The 40lb flathead was a nice surprise, I absolutely love how subtle they bite. Here in Brazil, before trolling motors were wide available, fishermen used to drag baits with a sand bag in the place of the anchor. And we don’t have dragging sinkers. At least for me, your videos are always fishing lessons, thanks for sharing, Spencer!

Have to say I do like the longer format you've been giving us of late, and I hope it helps you in everyway possible. My question is, and i can kinda understand Skip, as he's only open for bribes when it comes to cooperation where you're concerned. Woody though should be bring your attention to the fact that you're getting a real bite, instead of you being caught dozing off as you're prone to do. LOL Looks like you're getting the hang of this catfishing thing you've decided to pickup at such a late stage of life. Slow n steady will always get you what you want, versus rushing things every chance you get. As haste does make waste, and while learning everything thing the hard way, gets real old fast, and it turns a lot of people away from things they should be enjoying. I know you know these things, but some times a friendly reminder helps Take care and stay safe out there.

If you're in a spot where you are casting directly down river they would make sense. If not, the current will sweep them away.

It depends on where I'm at and honestly, how much bait I have. If I have enough bait, I almost always run one big one. In cooler water I use smaller baits.

They have a solid one piece frame that reduces flexing at a price point below anyone else. That increases the longevity when using heavy baits in fast current and catching big fish. Theyre also more compact than round reels. I love those things.

I've been experimenting with the HTT khales. They've treated me pretty decent. I've used those J hooks you're talking about and they're great for flatheads and channels. Blues I've had poor results with. They're identical to the whisker seeker J hooks.
