Spencer....you are sore mouthing all my fish in the paint rock. We talked the other day. You ran into me and buddy crappie fishing. Glad you and the wife are enjoying Alabama. If you ever need anything let me know. Will help you in any way I can. Welcome to Alabama.

Hey @RiverCertified : I’ve been a decoy for protection/police/competition dogs since 2010. Ive competed with my dog in Germany in 2019. What you described with Skip’s recall is a thing I have worked on for years with client dogs. When they’re little we get into the habit of praising them for coming close to us, it shows theyre learning so we like it. But, it creates the “zoom by” or the “stop short”. A really simple way to fix it: work on it at home in the yard at first. Use a leash to reinforce what I’m about to tell you. So, you the dogs name, give it a second so you know he heard you, then give your recall command. Give a little tug on the leash to get them moving. You can reel them in as a way to keep them moving. As the dog is approaching you, start walking backward with a bit of speed and keep reinforcing the recall command. When they get close, come to a stop. But, dont say good dog, or praise or give a treat until you physically put your hands on their collar or body. Make that praise really over the top, it makes them really haul ass to get back to you and honor your recall command. And, this is huge right here, no matter how angry/pissed off you may be at the dog, doesnt matter if he just killed the neighbors cats and livestock, if you give recall and he honors it, always reward the act of recalling. I hope that helps you out. Keep up the great content, I fully intend to book a flathead trip for myself and my 10yr old nephew in 2025.

Always great to see old Skipjack Griswold Shadgut the first on the boat once again. The weather has been relaxing up here in the mountains lately so I'm gonna be heading into the canyons to fish, you guessed it, small water for some twenty inchers. Then back to pheasant hunting on the road until xmas. I still gotta get you those USS Shadgut decals spun up for the boat!

I’m always here for whatever you get into bud!! Great stuff as always. Been telling you for years, because it’s true, but you make me get out more than I would. I’ve gone more the last few years, and taken the boys on camp and cooks… because I see guys like you and Josh catching and it fires me up. I appreciate the inspiration. Have you noticed the long format content on other channels getting lots of views? I follow several fishing and hunting channels and I’ve noticed a trend in long format stuff doing better for them. I follow a hunting channel closely and he started uploading his whole 1.5-3 hour hunt unedited… I’m not sure how or why but it’s increased his viewership by a bunch. If he edits and uploads the same hunt, he gets 12-18k views, unedited he gets 100k. The algorithm is weird, but not editing and getting more views seems like a win.

@RiverCertified you gotta hit Cumberland. 17s are fairly common. A lot of big Catfish and occasionally, you'll get big Striped Bass runnin thru. We catch Catfish while Crappie fishing. On jigs and minners. Cumberland is awesome. So is Dale Hollow.

I was in the Marines as a young man and fought off the urge to get a tattoo. I’m glad I did. If you want to impact your mind in a positive way, memorize Bible Scripture. If you memorize a gospel verse then think about that verse, you can be saved for all eternity. Such a verse is Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”- (from the Lake of Fire), Romans 10:9.
