You can have the best everything, in the best spots, but if you don’t have that confidence. You don’t have anything. Your perseverance and grit are truly amazing man. I look up to you more than you know. I know you’re trying new things and testing your skills and abilities but forget the tournaments and go back to having fun man. 💪🏼

♥There can be a bad day catching, but there's no such thing as a bad day fishing. First kayak tournament and you caught a quality blue! Before this I didn't know there was such a thing as kayak catfish tournaments. I realize judging by total length of inches makes a lot of sense, but when you're working the board, holding a lap full of fish, and trying to take a photo simultaneously, there's a lot of opportunity there for something to go wrong! Seems like multitasking on a kayak requires much more finesse, agility, and mobility that I could ever muster at my age. 😉♥

Thanks for all of the great videos; you do pretty much everything I hope to do in a couple of years. Have you seen the Wilderness Systems Tactical Pro 128? The offset trolling motor (so you can open the front hatch) looks awesome; and the in-hull battery storage clears a lot of the back deck. The front storage compartment also looks like it might work as a baitwell. I'm looking for an alternative to my Hobie.
@RiverCertified3 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoy them. I have seen several videos of it. Based on what I've seen, I like the looks and features of the Bonfide XTR more, but I'm sure the Wilderness Systems is a great kayak too.
@tgray29103 ай бұрын
@@RiverCertified Yeah, the XTR130 was at the top of my list until the Tactical Pro was announced. Being able to put large batteries in the hull behind the seat is tough to beat. But I'll check them both out in person before taking the plunge. The XTR is definitely more visually attractive - looks a bit less like a plastic barge than similar designs. If bad days of tournament fishing get you down, remember that even videos of your bad days are uplifting to those of us who want to be out there.

@@RiverCertified Also, I have never had a problem getting skipjack to bite with 1" gulp minnows. They seem to hit those even when they are being picky; maybe it's the scent. I use flat ned rig type jig heads; the larger hooks seem to stick better.

TY showed a highlight reel today of a trip I think to the central America area. He mentioned the name Spencer but never really showed you. It's probably a stupid question and there's a video of it available but was that you behind the camera talking with him.? It's a bummer when after doing something that you enjoy doing doesn't provide us that pleasure. I have to say that from the video I have seen on your channel that you caught some pretty large fish. I appreciate the effort and content you post here no matter the catch. I live in San Diego where we don't have rivers or creeks or streams like you have access to. My biggest fish was a 3 1/2 lbs large mouth bass. It's just fun for me to see what the fishing is like and whatever part of the Midwest that you go to fish in.
