Live scope should 💯 be banned from any tournament fishing for any species. They completely cut out the fishing aspect, there is no skill involved and it's going to completely destroy fisheries.
@jakebryan9556 ай бұрын
I use a Hawkeye fish/depth finder on my kayak. Got it from Amazon for the purpose of knowing how deep the water is. Outside of that, I agree with you 💯!!!
@RiverCertified6 ай бұрын
I definitely would be cool with it getting banned. I'd even be cool with side imaging getting banned. I will also agree that it changes the fishing aspect of it. Feels more like ice fishing than open water fishing. However, to say there is no skill involved, I will respectfully disagree on that.
@josephwalsh9886 ай бұрын
I accept that. I may have been a bit hyper-critical saying that there is no skill involved. One of the issues I have with it is being used in tournaments (bass, catfish, etc.) is because it's definitely an unfair advantage. This is the same reason I don't hunt over bait for deer or bear, and I don't agree with sight fishing bass off of a spawning bed. It removes a bit of the requisite skill set for actually fishing. This is just my opinion and if anyone wants to use FFS that is perfectly fine with me, but I will stick to depth finders and water temp, moon phase, time of year, and a little luck to help catch fish. I mean no disrespect to anyone using FFS and have several friends that use it, it's just not for me.

As far as the tournaments go I feel any damage done by live scope pales in comparison to damage done by hauling fish in a livewell back for a weigh-in. Judging by what I see at my lake the potential for greatest damage is being done by some live scope users fishing at night where multiples of the limit, especially crappie, are brought in. (Conservation agents haven’t caught on or simply don’t have enough people to watch the ramps at night.). Then again I’m not sure fishermen are having more success than someone who has brushpiles marked on a GPS.
