At my local lakes in Central/SE Ohio, I don't have much luck on frozen shad for channels. The bullheads seem to love it. Frozen bluegill is my go to for channels.

Had a day like this once in upstate NY. We caught over 30 channels between the 3 of us in about a 2 hour span. Only reason we stopped was because we ran outa bait. Such an awesome day.

Those are the new catfish and carp ones. The 9'6" MH are solid channel cat rods when you need your line up high, at least imo.
