I must agree....I call Spencer the "Ernest Hemminhway" of cat fishing. He is an adventurer and keeps everything simple. You can tell he just doesn't do this for a living but also as pure passion and enjoyment. I really think he could live on the river and be happy as long as his poles stayed doubled over. Anybody who loves animals like Spencer can't be a bed guy! He says Woody is bad luck but I don't think he is. Woody is a cool dog. I love his attitude as well.

Well you were right, another dandy of a fish. Thank you Spencer and Corey for putting it the time and effort to come south and give us 3 great videos. What an amazing adventure that I would have been proud to be on. We have had so much rain this year across the south that it is hard to fish like normal. Since before that full moon, I have fished every Saturday and doing good on Whisker seeker bobber's and suspended bait (thanks to you). Even got into a group of big stripe bass on minnows Saturday. What are they doing in upper Saluda river area in 15 feet of water with it 95 degrees. I am confused ? Caught some dandys but anyone have answers for a novice 62 year old?

Got a 24 LB Flathead Friday night. Fought like a much bigger fish once I got him to the dock. I had a helluva time getting him off the bottom, in current that was much stronger than normal. Water freaking exploded when I got him to the top of the water.

I think I'll add some of those fire starters to the survival/"oh crap" box I've decided to keep on the boat. My neighbor decided to sink his boat on the upper Roanoke two years ago and if we wouldn't have got the nose on the bank and kept the phones dry it would've been a bad situation.
