Wow! That footage and the production on this one was next level. The storytelling, all of it. That was a thing of beauty. Bravo! I’ve been a professional voiceover talent for 15 years voicing for products worldwide so storytelling is my wheelhouse (voice wise). Amazing job Pete with the narration/production, Ken’s camera guy and whoever else produced and made this piece of cinematic magic. And so cool to see Ken paddling with you all. So good!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I gotta agree with everyone Pete. What a great cooperative effort. That is one of the best kayaking videos I have watched, ever. Artful editing (the opening with the white flowers and the creek in the background was especially nice + some great well timed water splashes), superb drone footage, and that shot of P5 looking right into the camera at Triple Drop was just incredible. Well done by you and Ken's crew. And, yes, y'all definitely captured the spirit of Wilson Creek.

What’s evident in this edit is that with a mix of better quality cameras and aerial footage, you achieve a much higher production quality than GoPro footage alone. As a videographer/ editor, I recognize the burden of carrying the additional equipment, planning and executing the shots, which certainly takes away from the paddling experience itself. To the viewer however, it’s magical.

For sure macfawlty!! it comes with a price, but it is well worth it!

@@RiverKingsKayak Perhaps you've mapped a path forward where you can have a mix of quicker edit paddle/instruction videos, higher production edits when it's a worthy group paddle or camping video and you have multi-cam and aerial support. You don't have to prove yourself as a paddler/instructor at this point. Continue to develop your filmmaking and put more effort into monetization. I don't think most of your loyal viewers would mind sponsorship and product review content as separate edits or inline.

Hi Pete, I'm still new to your videos and playing some catch-up. I don't necessarily watch them in order but after each one I find myself saying the same thing, "Wow, was that (35, 40, 45) minutes already??" This one was absolutely riveting. This was one that my television did no justice to. It was worthy of watching in a movie theatre. I told you once in a live chat recently (the kayakers taking over the whitewater park) that you inspired me to buy 2 boats, 1 for me and one for my son, who is about a year younger than your son. It's a story with some history I'd love to tell you in person one day. I would thank you for the videos but that wouldn't be fair. You've given me the drive to do something great with and FOR my own son, which I feel like "Thank you" doesn't quite cover. My sincerest gratitude to you and yours.

I don't know if you remember, but I had mentioned in a post a couple of months ago about going out from my ranch in western Colorado to go kayaking with you, the River Kings. I was hoping to intentionally get a swimmer bell when I got down there. Well, life happened, and now there's no way that I'll ever be able to kayak again. I was on my way into town (Meeker, CO) when I got hit by a drunk driver. I broke my back and am now paralyzed from the shoulders down. I am being trained on how to use eye gaze plus a sip-and-puff system to operate a computer and figured a good way to practice would be to write a message to you so that you'd know why I'd suddenly dropped out of sight. For me, this means no more ranching, no more paddling, no more of the things I love. I'm not going to be able to go back home either. All of that makes me wonder why I should keep on keeping on. Now that I have a way to work a computer I can at least catch up on all the River Kings videos I've missed while I'm not doing rehab. Still don't believe this happened and feel like maybe I'll wake up and it was all a bad dream. But I know it's not, and that I'm pretty much done. Looks like I'm going to be a useless bump on a log for the rest of my life, which honestly I hope will be a short one. This isn't the life I was meant for. Good luck to you, and keep the great videos coming. Maybe I can get some vicariious joy out of watching you enjoy what I used to. I've always loved your videos, and the videos of people like Jer, and the rest of the gang back east. Y'all keep up the great work!

I absolutely remember MammaDuck! I am in shock. I know that no matter what I say here, I cannot begin to ease the burden you must feel in starting this new stage of life. I am truly so sorry that you have to go down this path. I do however feel that you still have more to do here on this earth. I will be praying that you find the grace to carry on and find your new purpose. Personally, I have no idea how I would handle this situation but am in awe of the strength you have to start learning a new way of life. I hope that somehow, in at least some little way, we can be of some help to you. Please reach out anytime if you need someone to talk to. Send me an address where I can send you that sticker! Hang in there MammaDuck!!!!! I love reading your comments so keep em coming!
@Chompchompyerded2 жыл бұрын
@@RiverKingsKayak "Go down a new path..." That's a good way to look at it. I think I need to start looking at it that way. I don't know what my purpose is yet either. Maybe it's as simple as being a good person and appreciating what it is that these folks here at the rehab facility are trying to do for me. It's sometimes kinda hard. I'm a long way from home, way out on the prairies of Nebraska, and people are different here. I only hope that they don't find me too rough. I'll be trying though. You're right though. I need to try to find my new purpose, whatever that may be. I feel like I've got two options. I can either laugh, or I can cry. It's been my experience that crying doesn't do a lot of good, so I'm going to try to laugh. You can be sure that I'll be watching your videos, and I probably will comment from time to time. I loved the last one, and even though I don't know your son, I've really liked watching him grow and become a better kayaker. Won't be long and he'll be doing all the moves you do, and with the same smoothness and confidence. I literally can se the improvement from video to video. If you revisit them in a decade or two, and take them in order, I'll bet you'll see the same thing. I hope he sticks with it after he leaves home. I suspect he will About the sticker, I haven't earned it, so I don't feel I can accept it. It's gotta be for people who really do take the swim. It doesn't have the same meaning otherwise. I'd feel like an imposter if I accepted it. I'd love to give you my address anyway, but I can't do it here where everyone and their dog can see it. I'm sure you understand. Well, maybe I could. This is a rehab facility, so what's the worst that could happen? Give me some time to think it over. Don't want any late night visits from any strangers. Or middle of the day visits either. For the first time in my life I feel completely vulnerable. Before the accident I could fight back, and probably take on wild horses., but now I can't swat a mosquito. Care aide is here to take me down for lunch. The food here is... I'm not sure "food" is the right word for it. Ever been served a bowl of green bean stems? LOL! Thanks for caring and taking time to reply. You can be sure that I'll be tuning in to watch all your videos. You do such a fantastic job of it, and your narration is perfect. I always look forward to seeing them. Thanks again!
