yes, i’m really glad that the cultural appropriation was called out! there is a constant stream of cultural appropriation (especially of black and desi culture) in korean pop culture and it is something that must be addressed (especially by people with a tangible presence on youtube like you guys, i feel like others just ignore it). another great video from you guys overall! looking forward to more

I understand your point of view but I have to clarify that dreadlocks don't come from black people. They were inspired by indians and they used it in Pastafarism. So if black people can do dreadlocks, why people from Korea or anywhere else could not ?

I guess in a sense they (artists/kpop industry) dont view it as cultural appropriation/ offensive because they (also whole world) has used/ borrowed cultures for a stage with their artistry. Like for example rap, blues, rnb. These are from black people. Kpop artists get applauded for doing those genres. The industry views it as cool, so then why not borrow their aesthetics/looks? Though unfortunately they tend to overlook the issues that black people face for that same culture they use, and simply dont get it.
