Been on a horse for some time. About 30 years ago I was studying a trainer, John Lyons. The outfit I worked on, was the kind that, you get on and go to work. Jerking and pulling was normal. I started working with the horses when I could. Ranch hand don't have a lot of time. In about a month,, there was a big change. The horses I was riding did what I was (asking). The rancher had me riding all the horses after that. I thank you for your videos. So much I have learned from you. In my mid 50s now. I have understanding and feeling. Biiiig learning curve. We are enjoying the foot of snow we just got here in Montana.

Omg! I'm doing that with my filly! I'm having her pull stuff since she's too little to ride yet. She's the calmes yearling ever. My first time sitting on her she didn't care bc she'd been packing light but bulking things and dragging stuff for months! I'm so relieved to hear you talk about your colt that you trained thay way, or "started" I knew I was o the right track bc it made sense logically, but very happy to hear you say that you've done it too

I cheered when that sorrel mare picked up her right hind and finally moved. Watching Pat work her was a lesson in itself so thank you, sir. It's sad that she needed to develop that protective attitude. Good wishes to her current owner I am certain that she picked up valuable information with this clinic.

Fair and just. Clear fair and just. Thank you for your reading the horse. That’s why we are choosing to listen and are watching you. Thank you Pat.

Love watching and listening to this man. I have finally started riding in a bit with a cricket instead of a snaffle and applying my best what he does with his hands and body. We are both doing better than I thought but still working on it.

👍 nice clever warm blood (half 😜 or quarter of it) in the end. Good remarks on fear while you were riding the “Sorel terrorist”. It’s great that you actually ride the student’s horses, so there is no doubt that you sure know what you’re talking about and know what you’re doing. 🤩🤩

Thank you for the videos Pat and Deb! I watch all your videos and then go back and watch them over and some of them I watch over again. Thank you! I would like to ask you to please film roping a horse like you do in the round corral that is “scared” of the rope or doesn’t “like” the rope. Thanks for everything you guys do! Your reach and message touches farther than you can imagine. North Missouri

We have a playlist of videos of Pat roping horses. I believe there are a number of them that had not been roped before and did not like it at first. Check them out and then let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Pat, long time subscriber and love your videos, they have really helped me developing my horsemanship skills. I would much appreciate some advice on a problem Ive been having with one of my geldings. He is a 9 year old gelding who i have been riding for about 6 months he is really tame and a pretty good horse. About 3 months ago I had an accident where my saddle flipped over as I fell (completely my fault for not cinching him up correctly) thank God no serious injury was done to the horse or me just a few cuts and bruises. Ever since then he seems somewhat nervous and anxious when I saddle him up. What would be the best way I should go around regaining his trust?

Great to see the red mare stop over reacting and actually think. Lovely that you got off once she gave the correct response, its the best way to cement in a horses mind that its the right thing to do

Hey pat im from Preston Idaho and love your videos! I’m having trouble dismounting from my horse he gets spooked and won’t let me off sometime and I can’t find a video on this

We don’t have a video on this because we don’t get on our horses until we have roped them thoroughly, done all the groundwork, and worked them with a tarp and flag. In other words, your horse isn’t broke. Walk through all the steps that we’ve shown in many of our videos on starting horses and restarting horses.

Looks like a quick change not sure of the mouth piece but a very low quality bit. Impressive how well he got that horse to work in that bit. Amazing horsemen.

I just brought it up on my computer and my television and I don’t hear any problems except the occasional cutting out when Pat turns away from the camera or is too far away.
