Damn! 80 pounds on wards a night at Riza is startling. Nonetheless, I'm in love with the Riza and Trabzon region, in general. That teapot and tea cup fountain represent very much their tea culture. The giant Turkish tea glass tower is another landmark. Thank you for having taken us with you virtually through the sights of marvellous Trabzon ❤

Hamsi is one of my favourite fish. The season starts in June and lasts a couple of months. After that it is said to grow too big and to be less delicate. So, the fish mongers might still sell it now in the autumn, but the restaurants will not serve it.

It is very natural that Mick restaurant does not serve you anchovies because anchovies are very tasteless and almost like straw in these months.My mother is from the Black Sea region and we never eat anchovy this season.The weather is not cold yet and the sea is still warm. Anchovy must be exposed to cold weather and cold sea, its meat must be oiled.That's when the taste of anchovy reaches its peak. Anchovy is eaten in December, January and February. For your information, good friends.👈👍🙂🥰

Hamsi in the markets now we call them "Buzhane" meaning they are not fresh they are frozen. Locals do not eat frozen so restaurants do not serve them. But if you really want Hamsi you can buy it from markets etc.
@mickandtrudie2 күн бұрын
@@ZORUNSUZ sorry but the ones in the market were fresh
@master-debater2 күн бұрын
@@mickandtrudie I don't think you can tell the difference just by looking unless you're an expert. They simply thaw them. In Turkey, 'fresh' means it's never been frozen in the first place, so if it's been frozen, it’s not fresh. Additionally, it's technically not possible or legal to catch hamsi during certain times of the year due to ovulation, so it's not possible to find any fresh hamsi unless it's in season.
@ZORUNSUZ2 күн бұрын
