Ooh finally "Firetruck"! Yeah this was a unique debut! You were definitely starting to get the mv, the boys are girl's guardians and every stage they intervened they were protecting her. When Haechan starts the bridge the mv shows flashes of what was wrong in each stage, a fire in the sandcastle, a chemical fire in the classroom, her coworkers sabotaging her work and a fire in the outlet in the home with her kid. This song...is definitely one that grew on me, but it is still not a favorite by any means, it ranks pretty low on my most to least favorite 127 title tracks. BUT I will say what has made this song so much better for me is the LIVE performance of "Firetruck" during their concerts! That and the choreo is fantastic and one of my favorite performances of theirs. Winwin's multiple highlight moves were super impressive and the move where they lift Haechan is crazy, but the synchronization and energy are everything. Also the album is great. Yes, there was no Johnny, Doyoung, or Jungwoo here. Just Taeyong, Taeil, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Haechan and Mark. Johnny and Doyoung came in "Limitless" and Jungwoo in "Regular". More very avant-garde fashion, but I actually LOVE Taeil, Yuta and Taeyong's looks. Jaehyun was in his emo-boy phase here. The fashion looked a bit better when they wore it for photoshoots, interviews and award shows, still odd, but fun. They were pretty consistent in giving Yuta skirts and they looked great. Also, this was the era of blonde with pink bang Winwin and his iconic "M.I.L.F" flannel that he wore on red carpets lmao I didn't start stanning NCT until "Limitless" came out, but I did hear most of their songs since debut in passing and when I first heard "Firetruck" it was just a snippet and I didn't even know who it was by yet, but I did immediately skip it because I was like "what the hell is this", so yeah I think it's fair to say it threw a lot of people off. But it was still moderately successful! A lot of people liked how unique and diverse and versatile NCT were even if they didn't quite vibe with the sound always. If you have time you should definitely check out the live stage of "Firetruck" during their Neo City tour! Can't wait for "Sticker" and the reaction, it was interesting to see the debut again before the new release! They've grown in more ways than one and 5 years is a lot of time. Whatever they give us it's gonna be amazing.

From what I heard was : 127 acting as guardian angels (firemen) every time the Girl is in trouble or having a problem(fire) they would use the water hose to express that feeling. Yes the girl is growing up. Childhood, getting a bad bf with drugs, co worker stealing her work, married life with kid then old lady with grandson.

As mentioned before, NCT's concept is based on dreams and dreaming. So that is what I think you see being depicted in the "Fire Truck" MV --- It all has to do with a dream/fairytale. I kind of see it like Wendy from Peter Pan. The NCT members are kind of like Peter who never want to grow up and always want to stay young, and they are always around to protect Wendy. The girl in the MV is "Wendy". You see her as she grows up and goes through life and the NCT members are like guardian angels protecting her from all the "fires" (bad things) in her life. When you see them spray the water this is during a moment in "Wendy's" life where something bad or unpleasant is happening and the NCT members are trying to cleanse and fix the situation. (The squirt guns represent how they are fixing a small thing -- Wendy is building her castle out of sand, i.e. an unrealistic dream without a solid foundation. As she gets older, it becomes fire hoses because more power is needed to solve bigger problems that take greater force to fix.) But like Wendy, the girl realizes she has no choice but to grow up and go through those adult milestones. In the end, you see her as an old woman and the girl you now see in the yard is "Wendy's" granddaughter. As controllers of dreams, NCT helps to change the narrative in "Wendy's" and her family's lives. Sobangcha is the Korean word for fire truck. "Fire Truck" came out in July 2016 and it is NCT-127's debut -- when they debuted they only had 7 members.The members of NCT who were in the"Fire Truck" MV are Taeyong, Mark and Jaehyun (who all also debuted as part of NCT-U with "The 7th Sense" in April 2016), along with new additions Taeil, Yuta, Winwin and Haechan. WinWin is trained in traditional Chinese dance, so he was the one you saw do the flip in "Fire Truck's" routine.

The answers to the story are towards the end where they show them putting out a fire on her sandcastle, putting out a fire in a beaker in science class, shutting down the guy with roofies (or maybe he made a bet w/ the other dude? I forget), exposed the person who framed her for stealing top secret info at the office, and they put out an electrical fire at dinner. I was always struck by how well they managed to properly cast actresses who actually looked alike. Can't always say the same for even the big budget Hollywood stuff. 😄 And OMG the color grading on this mv is terrrrrrible! Like they filmed them in a room with orange walls, had some of them wearing orange clothes and even had some with orange hair and then tweaked the saturation on the footage which unsuprisingly hella skewed skin tones. 🤦♀️ For such a big established company, you'd think SM would have caught that.
@cake67873 жыл бұрын
YES! love this song and even the styling idc it was so camp... especially marks orange dyed bang things, winwins cotton candy hair, and taeyongs grunge look (if you look up his teasers theyre so good) really did it for me. to think haechan was only 16, mark was 17, and jaehyun/winwin were 19. plus this choreo is ICONIC. the storyline of the video is they're protecting the girl throughout her life like a fireman. (ex. the sketchy dude that was getting super close to her was sprayed with the hose, drug deals happening) get it cus. firetruck. haha. anyways yeah this song gives mixed opinions throughout the fandom and though its not one of my favorites i still love it. peak nct

At the beginning of the MV you must have noticed that there is a girl who is surrounded by the members…. the members are actually her guardian angels who protect her throughout her life from her struggles… they “dose off” the problem(stress, anxiety,etc) like a hose of a fire truck “doses off” the fire :) You must have noticed 4 girls throughout the MV, they all look unhappy… This MV is actually about one person in different stages of her life- one in her childhood, one in school, one as a teen and the last one at work. The boys have fought against mistreatment and stereotypes faced by women. At the end of the MV you must have noticed an old lady smiling , it is the young girl who fought through all the problems in her life with the help of the members. At the end now they will watch over her grandchild. I hope it helps. I hope you read the meaning behind firetruck first before you watch it so that there is no confusion happening hahaha

11:31 Yes, that's Yuta! Firetruck is definitely weird! The track isn't that unsual, but more of a grower, since the MV really does distort it a bit xD I ended up liking the song and the choreo is damn fire! And yes, they're basically the guardian angels of the little girl throughout her whole life (at the end, we see them go for her grandkid after her death). The MV depicts certain moments in her life, where she was in danger (as seen in flashbacks during the bridge part): at the playground and at shool there was spark of fire, the guy she's dating as a teenager had a bet going, at the workplace someone stole her work and at the diner table with her family there's again starting a fire.

U guessed right!! They were following the girl since childhood to adulthood putting down the 'fire' in every one of her 'life stages' and then it was time to protect her grandchild This is what I like abt NCT's songs they hit u right in the face lol ... I like Firetruck way way more then Punch... I guess u are right abt the MV distracting you the 1st time I heard "Firetuck" and "Simon says" was on a Playlist while working on my project and it's sound really attracted me and I went out of my way to look for the title of these too hhhhh I discovered NCT around 2017! I really don't get people who don't understand the video. This is I think their most easy to understand storywise.
