Ya, Somender Singh figured out that groove thing some time ago. Theory is that channels of cooler fuel coming from the center of the combustion chamber follow the grooves clashing with the hotter outside edge with the squish band creating turbulence. Think more violent combustion. Yes, I have experimented with it on a tip from Lonn Patterson from Thunder Products Racing back in '08. Works as advertised!..
@mikelyons75116 жыл бұрын
To get all the benefits out of a modified head you pretty much have to do porting not just polishing, but cylinder head Port timing as well to get a broad spectrum of usable power for your situation. Which also pipe silencer carb and reads coming to play. Have a happy day, 3rd gear pinned forever✊

@jhutch14706 жыл бұрын
I use Speedway "Cam 2" for the minimum 110 octane so far. I have yet to have the weather break for my riding season to start. I have ridden it down the street and have so far jetted it up 2 on the main and 1 on the pilot. I will see from there. The hit is hard and the power is awesome so far. I can't wait to see how it runs on the track.
@jhutch14706 жыл бұрын
It also does seem to have a lot of lower power and the power band is wider so I'm excited. for the money, try it out. Just be willing to use the race fuel for the biggest gains. I love the head to death so far and would buy another one in an instant.

I would say the surface finish is like that from machining with a bullnose type cutter so he can machine multi surface angles. Looks pretty cool like that. Id be interested if there is any other reason why its been milled apposed to turning like most other inserts. A rough surface is good for mixing the fuel and air and helps atomise. Although with a 2t the case is where that all happens. Mmm thats going to have me thinking to hard. If you find out then let me know 🤘🏻nice video squire

@DETAILDENNIS6 жыл бұрын
I want to give a shout out for the great down to earth reviews and opinions. With that said comes a question. You have reviewed two products the Slavens S3 head. And the RK Tek . Both seem a good choice but the RK seams to have slight advantages. In your specific general riding areas , elevations, and abilities .... what would be your choice head on your 300 Ktm? I realize your 250 May have a different opinion. I am considering one of these on my 2016 Husky TE300 Your impute would be helpful !

I’ve fitted a lectron carbs to my ktm exc 300 2017 I’m also running a RK-tek performance head and a vforce 4 reed valve. The Bike isn’t too good. It’s seams to be lean, over running when shutting off and sounds like some knocking. I’ve tried to adjust the air mixture screw and got it a bit better. I know you can adjust the metering rod but I’ve not tried that yet. The bike was running ok on the original head but want to try and get the performance head to work with your carb. I live in the uk and ride under 1000 metres altitude. Have you any settings or advice on the matter.

That last small bolt was to bleed the air out so the coolant area doesn't have air pockets. Get a nice air pocket and you'll overheat.
