RK008 + RK006 - USB Expansion

Hi Garrett, I'm glad that you are making videos for the RK 008 (as I'm still trying to get my head around mine), but I would love to see a practical/long run/"in use" video with some production. You know I love your stuff. I would gladly contribute any of my unused production kit (I do sound for TV...but have some other video bits of kit AND live close to a massive online video supply store "Markertek" here in New York State). Hit me up and lmk if I can sort you out with anything...like a stand for your iPhone...at least. Thanks for the video and for being a genius.

Great stuff, very useful to see if Im doing things the right way :) Have you tried any CME WIDI devices with the RK006/008? Thats my next experimentation. I've got most of my place converted to WIDI but havent incorporated the RK's yet.

Yes you can plug in a widi device into 006/008 and it will play along nicely, would you get doubled notes with widi attached you can also disable rk008 routing. Because of the double I/O buses you’ll still have a i/o bus free for cabled midi

re-routing in rk-006 is only possible by plugging and unplugging from computer by cable?

You can use a Bluetooth midi dongle and do it remotely via the app but a ‘real usb connection’ is most stable. There are also 10 ipresets + 2 user presets you can store in the rk006 and switch to them by long-pressing the top button. Also, the rk006 is fully configurable via standard midi messages so would you want to change a port tempo, divider, etc via a midi controller that’s also possible

Tip: You might need to update the firmware on your RK-006 before attempting a USB MIDI setup like this.

yes the RK008 and RK006 work together in hosting USBMIDI like this.

Yes, you can set a port to midi, gate sync or pwm, gate triggers can be triggered by midinotes or miditempo
