I just ordered a Pegasus last night. I went with the 9 tires as I chose to opt for more comfort riding as the Pegasus will not be my daily commuter but will be used more for recreational riding and enjoyment. I definitely want to get this. I've owned a segway ninebot max for a month now and love it. But want to get two scooters. One for fun and other for commuting to work. Gas at 6 dollars a gallon makes me glad I have electric.

Nice review and thanks for sharing. Pretty much spot on to what Jimmy said on his review. Good to see Varla have a consistent model with the Pegasus here.. The only thing Jimmy picked up on as a negative that you didnt is the "ebike" display which varla have used (re the PAS icon on the screen.. Pedal Assist System) and the chatter at low speed with your head due to the stiff suspension

It's funny you mention the ebike display because I have probably 3 clips mentioning it that all got cut from the final video 😅 it didn't seem to have enough pertinence to be worth mentioning.

Great video as always and I can agree with everything you’ve said. The manual also says to not adjust the P12 setting (power from start) …it comes set on 1 which is the slowest but 3 is the sweet spot for me😀 a little more pep from the start!

You really pulled out all the stops for this video. I will say it's your best one yet! As to the scooter itself, I do not like that they used a folding mechanism that you can find on scooters as cheap as $350. I would want something more sturdy at this price.

@@Crazyd2050 I have the Varla pegasus and brother had kaabo mantis pro see, the Varla rides better actually for the most part, on choppy sidewalk the kaabo rides a little better.

Out of the box, the Mantis 8, but I am going to mess with some p-settings on the Pegasus and see if the acceleration can be increased a bit. I'll include this in the full review

No, you can’t have then any lower. But 5’8” should be a comfortable area for this scooter.

Excellent review my friend. I actually prefer solid tire wide wheel type scooters. Believe it or not you will wear the edges of the tires in and turning will become much easier around 400 to 600 miles. Until then the scooter will fight you wanting to stay upright.. but it is such an awesome feeling to be able to just jump on and go without constantly having to worry about tire pressure or flats. The tread will eventually wear off of the solid tires and they will actually grip pavement better than as they will perform like a racing slick tire. These being the brown springs, they are actually an upgrade from other scooters at this price point. Hope you enjoy the scooter, can't wait for a head to head versus the Mantis 8 🤘

It shouldn't be an issue to switch to hydraulic on this scooter. running the tubing through the body of the scooter is always a bit of trouble but I don't see any reason why you couldn't switch

The Pegasus does have a bit of giddy up to it, and the price is just right. In your opinion does this scooter have better looks than the Unagi Model One and the Mercane Wide Wheel Pro? Personally I love a scooter with stiffer steering, neck snapping speed and great tires. But thanks your great video I am quite torn on which to get....there's the Varla Pegasus, Wide Wheel Pro, Unagi Model One. I could get the Hero X8, of which has the bigger battery and better motors but I'm not sure......

Depends what you're into. The Model one has the most modern look for sure. Widewheel has a more stealth look and the Pegasus is more flashy with the blue accents. I think they are all good looking scooters tho.

The lock, when opened, seems to hit the headlight, potentially moving it's direction down. Like the rear suspension hitting the mud guard - another possible design flaw. But, I'm old and picky when I spend money. - And being older, I prefer the sit-down scooters, for easier balance.

The scooter is realy amazing in dry condition like a 1 to 10 I give it a 8,5. The big minus is the solid tires especially in wet condition. Dont drive in rain it is deadly dangerous and you just slide around.

Hey how long was the wait from when you ordered it till it got delivered to you ? I ordered my Pegasus 17 days ago and I’m still waiting . I emailed varla and they told me by the end of the month, but we’re almost there and I’ve gotten nothing so far

It took me months to get mine. Varla had to keep delaying because there have been tons of overseas shipping delays.

Yup, 16 days waiting here, told me the exac same thing, they just keep lying about it so I told them to just be straight up with the customers cause that just made them seem like a shady business, they finally told me it'll take 5-10 days for FedEx to scan the packages (they'd already sent me the tracking numbers 2 days ago). Tell them they need to give you some free stuff for the trouble, I got some.

The fact that you had to mess with the stem in order to lock it properly is not a welcome sign. Previous reviews I watched or read had problems with the brakes. Paul from Electric Scooter Guide had problems with both front & rear brakes. Please read the Electric Scooter review and see how that review matches with your own experience. Thanks for the review.

Yeah the lock came from the box quite loose but has been great now that it's tightened properly. The brakes did a fine job for me. They were wholely mediocre. So much so that i forgot to mention the brakes entirely 😅 I'll be sure to look into them and see how they hold up and cover it thoroughly for the full review

Bought the Pegasus recently and they must have adjusted some stuff because my top speed is definitely not more than 28mph, throttle response makes it hard to regulate my speed, it's all or none and mode 1 caps at 8mph, mode 2 at 13mph and mode 3 uncapped, which is a weird range to me. so if I want to limit my speed to 20mph I have to choose mode 3, but then the sensitivity of the throttle it's almost impossible to regulate speed so I end up just "gassing" it and letting off and "gassing" it and letting off to keep my desired speed. Not optimal. Maybe somebody reading this has some suggestions. I like the quick throttle response, but I would really like to regulate my speed with the throttle also. I might try adjusting the P setting for throttle response and see how that changes things.

You can give this Scooter more UMPF!!! by adjusting the settings I'm sure you can find them in the manual. It makes the trigger more sensitive but do this at your own risk its set to factory settings and is advised not to adjust.

Don't want to get too excited or recommend a scooter to enthusiastically if it's gonna not turn out to be great in the long run. Well the kickstand wasn't made for you to stand on the scooter while the kickstand is down. Maybe that is withe kickstand is not that stable.

received and assembled the pegasus today. rides really rough (compared to the eagle) seems to be caused by imperfections in the rear wheel (constant jolting varies with speed) seems like poor quality control with wheel manufacturing. I didnt expect it to be as smooth as pneumatic tires but when I ride on smooth pavement, I expect it to be smoother than what im actually experiencing. if ride quality of the eagle were 5 stars, the pegasus would rate at about 2 stars for lack of precision in the wheels resulting in a very rough thumpy ride

Your lack of safety gear is truly disturbing. I was in bed for three weeks because I tried to go through mud with a scooter. When I fell, I was sure I broke something. I was only going 10 MPH. Jimmy Chang messed up his knee for a month going slow on his One Wheel or EUC. I hope you have an epiphany before getting hurt. I can recommend gloves, a wrist guard and elbow pads for a total of around $60.00. I would also strongly recommend a knee and shin guard as well, but let me first try to convince you to get your upper body more protected. If you are interested, message me back. If not, I will not mention it again and just hope for the best. This message is for everyone: Wear a helmet(even if going two blocks to get groceries), elbow pads, wrist guard, gloves, knee pads/shin guard. When I fell,I wasn't even wearing a helmet at the time. That's how dumb I was.
