My 2014 r1 was stolen last year 17 July 2023 and cops acquired my bike on Sunday and called me to pick up after thieves stolen it from me and guy couldn’t handle the power, and got pinned. But man these bikes are awesome.

Speaking from personal experience, the only thing I didn't like was that you changed the colour of the fork sleeves to black. It's not that I don't like the colour, it's just because when they start getting pitted they look awful. In the golden ones the pits are pretty much invisible.

Put all those carbon parts to make the bike uglier, the previous owner had 0 class. There are awesome carbon bits and details that make the bike shine but all those farings....ugh.. and those wheels need to be painted, black blur or white or a cobination of those. Great work great video.

How common are they with intake valve issues.? I've seen post where the valve stem breaks and causes engine problems. have you heard of this being a common problem ?

Hey there! Check out my rebuild video on the 2004 R1 I did. I go over some info about the bike including a very common flywheel problem that all of the bikes have. I haven't heard of many widespread issues in those models with the valves though...

Truly a labor of love, but I wonder about the economics. What did you pay for the bike? How many hours did it take to restore it? How much money did you need to spend on parts and supplies. Looks great but it reminds me why I hate factory fairings! SO MANY FASTENERS. I was able to reduce that down to 12 1/4 turn aircraft fasteners on my race bike. I'll be doing that on all my future bikes.
