My 13 year old son has to sing this to a girl in a forthcoming movie. Didn't know it really (being Scottish, more of a 'Loch Lomond' type!). But what a beautiful Irish version. Thank you Orla and Tommy.
@Constantijn0925 күн бұрын
They sing it beautifully, I agree. But there is no competing with “Loch Lomond” as the lyrics match the song more perfectly 🏴

Lyrics : Come over the hills, my bonnie Irish lass Come over the hills to your darling You choose the road, love, and I'll make the vow And I'll be your true love forever. Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows Fair is the lily of the valley Clear is the water that flows from the Boyne But my love is fairer than any. 'Twas down by Killarney's green woods that we strayed When the moon and the stars they were shining The moon shone its rays on her locks of golden hair And she swore she'd be my love forever. It's not for the parting that my sister pains It's not for the grief of my mother 'Tis all for the loss of my bonny Irish lass That my heart is breaking forever.

I hear ye Brenda, me Da had that in spades, he was built like a brick shit house, just 5.10, but almost as broad as he was tall...when he got mad, he was fearsome, but then 10-minutes later, he was smiling and acting like a teddy bear...he hit me once, with a half punch and sent me kicking, and I deserved it LOL!
